It will be carried out by Anna University and the online registration for it will begin in the month of May 2017. GATE and TANCET qualifiers may participate in the Counselling of TANCA 2017 but only if they fulfill the eligibility criteria. The TANCET qualifiers will have to ensure that they should have qualified the examination in the year 2017. However, the GATE qualifiers of the year 2017, as well as, 2016 can participate. The Counselling of TANCA 2017 will be held in offline mode and candidates will have to be present in person. Candidates unable to attend the counselling can send their parents on their behalf. TANCA 2017 Counselling Dates

The dates for the upcoming TANCA Counselling 2017 have not been released yet. The conducting body will reveal it in the month of April 2017. Until the time it is not released, the candidates may have a look at the tentative duration when events of TANCA 2017 Counselling will be held.

Documents Required During TANCA 2017 Counselling

During the application form filling, the TANCA 2017 aspirants were required to upload certain documents. At the counselling round, the verification of these documents will be done. Candidates must carry it in original along with the photocopy of it. All the documents required during TANCA 2017 Counselling are listed below.

  • Class X and XII Marks sheet or Diploma Certificate (3 years)
  • Consolidates Mark Sheet for the Degree Program, if not available then mark sheet for all the semester

  • Permanent Community Certificate, only applicable for ST, SC, SCA, MBC & DNS, BC, and BCM candidates
  • TANCET 2017 Mark Sheet or GATE 2017 Scorecard
  • TANCET 2017 Hall Ticket or GATE 2017 Hall Ticket
  • Certificate of Disability
  • Experience Certificate
  • Nativity Certificate

Candidates should note that the GATE qualifiers who gave XE or XL paper will have to carry the documents for GATE, as well as TANCET.

Sri Lankan Tamil Refugee seeking admission through TANCA Counselling will also have to carry few extra documents, specifically:

  • Identification Document from Head Quarter Tahsildar
  • Visa, Passport, and Letter registered in Police Station, if the candidate is not registered with any refugee camp.

Process of TANCA 2017 Counselling

The process of TANCA 2017 Counselling has been explained below.

Step-1 Registration: First of all the candidates will have to submit TANCA 2017 Application Form. The application form could only be submitted online and by paying the fee amount of Rs. 500 (Rs. 200 for candidates belonging to reserved category). In the application form, candidates will have to enter details about themselves, education qualification they had, and contact information.

Step-2 TANCA 2017 Merit List: Next, the merit list will be released. The merit to the candidates will be allocated on the basis of their TANCET/GATE Score. Not all the candidates who will apply will be allotted a rank. Only those qualifiers will be featured in TANCA Merit List who will manage to surpass the cutoff.

Step-3 Document Verification: The merit holders will be called for document verification round. The above stated documents in original, as well as photocopy, should be carried. Only if the authorities are satisfied with the verification, the candidates move on with the counselling.

Step-4 Payment of TANCA 2017 Counselling Fee: To participate further in the Counselling of TANAC 2017, the candidates will have to pay Rs. 5300 as the fee. For the candidates belonging to reserved categories, the amount of fee is Rs. 1150. The fee amount can be paid in cash or through Demand Draft. The DD has to be prepared in favour of ‘The Secretary, TANCA, Anna University’, payable at Chennai. Mentioning the name and address on the back side of DD is crucial. The candidates must retain the payment receipt.

Note: The fee amount will include non-refundable counselling fee of Rs. 300 (Rs. 150 for reserved category candidates). The remaining Rs. 5000/1000 is the allotment fee, which will be refunded if candidates drop out of counselling.

Step-5 Seat Allotment: Since the Counselling of TANCA 2017 will be held offline, the seat allotment will also be done offline. After the document verification, the candidates will be moved ahead for seat allotment. The candidates will have to state their choices for the courses and colleges, and according to the merit, the seat will be allocated.

Step-6 Reporting at the Institute: Lastly, the candidates will have to report at the allocated institute. At the institute, candidates will have to submit the payment receipt and provisional seat allotment letter, along with certain required documents. The candidates will then have to conclude the remaining formalities and the admission and pay the balance fee.
