KEAM 2017 Eligibility Criteria are the requirements to be fulfilled by the candidates belonging to the categories such Keralite, Non- Keralite Category I and II for appearing in KEAM 2017. The exam will be conducted by CEE, Kerala on April 24 (Paper I) and April 25( Paper II) for admission to engineering courses. The eligibility criteria include nationality, candidates age limit, educational qualifications etc. All the candidates who are not eligible and do not submit the documents for their categories will be disqualified for appearing in the entrance test or admission process. KEAM 2017 Eligibility Criteria

The criterion for admission as well as for appearing in the KEAM 2017 is given below. Candidates must satisfy to be eligible for admission to various engineering courses.

Nationality

All the candidates must be a citizen of India for admission to various engineering courses. Persons belonging to Person of Indian Origin (PIO)/ Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) can also apply. But candidates belonging to this two category will not be eligible for KEAM 2017 Reservation of Seats.

Candidate’s Age limit

All the candidates must have completed 17 years of age as on December 31, 2017. There will be no relaxation in the minimum age. There is also no upper age limit for KEAM 2017.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates who have passed their Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala with 50% marks in Mathematics separately and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together will be eligible for admission in KEAM 2017.
  • Candidates who have passed their Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala with 45% marks in Mathematics,Physics and Chemistry will be eligible for admission under Management Quota seats in Private Self-financing Engineering colleges/Government Controlled Self Financing Engineering Colleges
  • The Higher Secondary Examination in Kerala where their Board exam are held for both the years, their marks for both the years will be counted/if the Board exam is held at the end of Class XII then marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics will be considered/for other courses marks shown in the mark list will be considered as eligibility for applying.

Eligibility Criteria of KEAM 2017 according to candidate’s Category

Keralite

Candidate belonging to the Kerala state will be categorised as Keralite. Candidates whose parents are officers of All India Service (AIS) (Non-Keralite) are considered as Keralite as per Government rules. But they will not be eligible for the reservation of communal/special/persons with disabilities or any concession in fee structure.

Non- Keralite Category – I (NK I)

Candidates who are not of Kerala Origin but fulfil the below-mentioned conditions will be eligible for admission.

  • A candidate who has pursued qualifying course in Kerala and also the son/daughter of the now-Keralite parents belonging to the Government of India/Defence Service posted to Kerala.
  • Applicants who have pursued their exams from Kerala state and whose parents have served/are working under Government of Kerala for at least for at least two years.
  • For candidates who have stayed in Kerala for the minimum of five years within the period of twelve years of their study, but is a non-resident of Kerala.
  • The applicants who have done their schooling in Kerala from Class VIII to Class XII.
  • These candidates will not be eligible for admission under the reservation of communal/special/persons with disabilities or any concession in fee structure.

Non-Keralite Category – II (NK II)

  • Candidates who do not fall under any Keralite or Non- Keralite Category I (NK I) will be considered as Non-Keralite Category-II(NK II).
  • Applicants belonging to this category will be eligible for admission under Management Quota in Engineering courses in Government Controlled Self financing colleges.
  • They are also eligible for Government seats and Management Quota seats in Private Self financing Engineering colleges.
  • These candidates will not be eligible for admission under the reservation of communal/special/persons with disabilities or any concession in fee structure.

Note: All the candidates must satisfy the required KEAM 2017 Eligibility Criteria and proof their category in the form of certificates at the time document verification.
