KEAM 2017 was conducted on April 24 and 25 at around 307 exam centres in Kerala, 2 in Delhi and 1 each in Mumbai and Dubai. According to officials, the exam was conducted successfully without any discrepancy reported from any of the exam centres.
The KEAM 2017 paper 1 of Physics and Chemistry was held on April 24 while paper 2 for Mathematics was conducted on April 25. Candidates who appeared in the exam said that exam was moderate in terms of difficulty. The overall questions asked in the exam were from the prescribed syllabus. The majority of questions in Physics and Chemistry were concept based while few questions from Mathematics were complex and lengthy.
Candidates who appeared in KEAM 2017 for the second time found paper to be similar in terms difficulty level as compared to the last year.
According to officials, a total of 1,00,350 candidates appeared in the exam against the 1,12,129 registered for KEAM 2017. Also, around 12,000 candidates did not appear in the exam. Last year, a total of 1,02,643 candidates appeared for the exam and 78,169 candidates qualified the test.
The question booklet of KEAM 2017 paper 1 and 2 had a total of 120 multiple choice questions and each carries four marks. Candidates will score 4 marks for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response marked in the exam. The score of candidates will be calculated out of 960 total marks.
The KEAM answer key 2017 has been released by coaching institutes after completion of the exam. Candidates can know their probable score based on the answer key released by coaching institutes. The official answer key of KEAM 2017 will be released within a week and candidates can download it to know score based on responses marked during the test. The examination authority will also provide an opportunity to challenge the answer key to candidates if they have any doubts.
The question booklet provided in the exam had code A1, A2, A3 and A4 for paper 1 and B1, B2, B3 and B4 for paper 2.
The result of KEAM 2017 will be announced on or before June 05 and rank card will be issued accordingly within a week. Based on the merit position in KEAM 2017 rank list candidates will be offered admission to undergraduate engineering programmes as per the choice and preferences.
Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala has conducted KEAM 2017 for admission around 60,000 B.Tech/B.E. seats in government, government controlled self-financing and private colleges in Kerala.
