KCET 2017 Exam Pattern

It is advisable to every aspirant of KCET 2017 to have an understanding of the format of the exam. Knowing the pattern of the test will help candidates to clear their ambiguity and strategize a proper plan for the Common Entrance Test. The details of KCET 2017 Exam Pattern are as follows:

Mode of Examination: The entrance test will be held in the offline mode, i.e. it will be a pen and paper based examination.

Type of Questions: The paper will consist objective type multiple choice questions. Each question will have four options out of which only one response will be correct.

Total Number of Papers: Candidates have to appear in the following papers which will be held on two separate days:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics/Biology

Total number of Questions: The total number of questions in each paper is given below:

Distribution of Marks
The maximum marks for each paper is 60.

Marking Scheme: Each question will carry 1 mark. There is no negative marking for incorrect answer.

Duration: A total time period of 1 hour 20 minutes will be given to complete each paper. The timings are given below:

Candidates from Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga have to appear in the Kannada language test. It will be conducted by KEA only in Bangalore. The language test will be a pen and paper based examination which will be of 50 marks. The exam schedule is as follow:
