Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2017 has declared the seat allotment result of round 2 on July 04. The vacant seats have also been released. There was a total of 6799 seats available at 97 institutes consisting of NITs, IITs, IIITs, GFTIs. The candidates who have successfully registered, filled choices, opted for float/slide options were eligible for JoSAA seat allocation 2017 round 2. The candidates who are allotted seats can withdraw their allotted seat by reporting to the Rcs and accept their seats by paying an acceptance fee from July 05 and July 06. JoSAA 2017 made two mock seat allotment rounds for the benefit of the candidates to select the most appropriate colleges and courses based on the choices filled by them within the given time period. Nearly 1.5 lakh successful candidates filled their choices through JoSAA for their preferred programs and the total number of choices hovered around 1.7 crores. The first round of JoSAA seat allotment result was declared on June 28 for all the eligible candidates. Such candidates were required to report to the JoSAA 2017 reporting centres between July 05 to 07. Along with the allotment status, can also check JoSAA opening and closing rank 2017 for Round 2.
To confirm a seat, candidates will have to visit their respective reporting centres for document verification and pay the seat acceptance fee. For general categories – Rs. 45,000 and SC, ST, Gen PWD, SC PWD, ST PWD and OBC-NCL PWD categories – Rs 20, 000. Fee payment can be made using SBI/Net banking or e-challan.
The seats of the candidates will be allotted only after verification of documents. However, in the Second round of JoSAA seat allocation 2017 candidates have the option to withdraw their seats. Candidates who reject the allotted seats are not eligible for further rounds. Seat acceptance fee will be refunded to these candidates after deducting the processing charge of Rs 1000.
Candidates can use the float/slide until the sixth round JoSAA 2017 seat allotment by visiting at the reporting centre if they are not satisfied with their seats or allotted course.
Candidates must note that the authority will allocate seats to the candidates as per the JoSAA 2017 seat matrix provided by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA 2017).
JoSAA 2017 will conduct counselling in seven rounds for granting admission to around 513 courses in a total of 97 institutes under JoSAA. Out of the total candidates who registered in the first round, 29415 seats were filled in the institutes and around 994 girls got admission in IITs. A total of 1699 seats remained vacant after 1st round of seat acceptance.
