JEE Main Exam Centres 2018JEE Main Exam Centres 2018: The JEE Main 2018 is scheduled to be held in online as well as offline mode in April at various designated centres across India and abroad. The JEE Main Exam Centres 2018 enlist the names of all the cities across the country and in abroad where CBSE will conduct the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). Last year, the JEE main exam was held at 104 Indian cities and 9 testing centres situated in designated foreign countries. Candidates will be allotted JEE Main exam centre as per their preference of exam cities opted while applying for JEE. Applicants have to select JEE Main exam cities in the decreasing order of preference at the time of filling up the application form. Candidates appearing in the offline mode have to select four cities whereas for the Computer Based Test (CBT), only one JEE Main exam centre needs to be opted. The name and complete address of the exam centre of JEE Main 2018 will be displayed on the admit card issued to the candidates. JEE 2018 will be conducted in both offline and online mode in all the exam cities of India. However, in foreign countries such as Dhaka, Kathmandu, Colombo and Singapore, the entrance examination will be held only in the online mode. How to Choose JEE Main Exam Centres 2018

As mentioned above, candidates have to opt for the exam cities as per their convenience at the time of filling up the application form of JEE Main 2018. JEE Main exam centres 2018 have to be selected in the following way:

  • The option to select exam centre of JEE Main will be under the section ‘Exam Related Details’ of the application form
  • After selecting the exam paper, mode and question paper medium, the drop down box to choose JEE Main exam centres 2018 will appear
  • Candidates opting for pen and paper mode (P&P) of examination have to select four test centres
  • Applicants who wish to appear for the entrance test in the online mode have to choose only one JEE Main exam centre 2018

Apart from the 104 cities of India listed above, JEE Main 2018 will also be conducted in 9 foreign countries. Candidates must note that in 4 foreign countries, namely, Colombo, Kathmandu, Singapore and Dhaka, JEE Main 2018 will be a Computer Based Test (CBT). JEE Main Exam Centres 2018 Key Points

  • Candidates opting for the Pen and Paper (P&P) mode of examination will be given the option to choose four exam centres
  • In case of Computer Based Test (CBT) mode, applicants will be allowed to choose only one JEE Main 2018 exam centre
  • Candidates must be very careful while selecting JEE Main exam centres 2018 as once allotted it cannot be changed later. However, candidates can change their preference of exam centre at the time of JEE Main application form correction facility
  • Candidates are advised to select the 1st preference of Exam centre nearest to their residence/location for their convenience
  • The exam centre mentioned in the admit card of JEE Main will be final and no further changes will be allowed to be made under any circumstances
  • For the Pen & Paper based examination, candidates will be allotted exam centre as per their choices. However, in some exceptional circumstances, a different city in a nearby area may be allotted.
  • If the number of candidates for Computer based examination is less than 50 in a city on a particular date then such candidates will be allotted last day of the computer based examination in the same city

Candidates can check the frequently asked questions (FAQs) about JEE Main exam centres below:

Q.1. Question: How will I know about the date and session of the examination if I failed to book the date for online examination after paying the fees or the capacity in the selected city is full?

Answer: If a candidate does not select the date for the online exam, he/she shall be randomly assigned a slot/date as per the availability of the same in the examination city selected by them. Details of session and slot will be mentioned on their admit card.

Q.2. Will there be any provision to change the exam centre of JEE Main 2018 after the submission of the application form?

Answer: Candidates will be allowed to change the exam centre preference at the time of application form correction facility which will be activated one month after the last date to apply for JEE Main.

Q.3. At what time do I need to reach the exam centre on the day of examination?

Answer: Candidates are advised to reach JEE Main 2018 exam centre two and half hours in advance to complete of pre-examination formalities on time.

Q.4. Can I use a calculator at the exam centre for JEE Main exam?

Answer: Use of calculators or any kind of electronic devices such as mobile phones, blue tooth devices etc. are prohibited in the examination hall.

Q.5. Do I need to carry a black ball point pen and sheet of paper for rough work to the exam hall?

Answer: Candidates must carry only the admit card to the exam centre. Candidates appearing for the P & P based test can carry a clipboard along with them. However, they must ensure that nothing is written on it.
Ball point pen and sheet for rough work will be provided in the exam hall.

Q.6. Will I be allowed to leave the exam centre during the entrance examination?

Answer: Candidates will not be allowed to leave their seat or exam hall until the full duration of the paper without the special permission of the Centre Superintendent or the Invigilator concerned
