JEE Main 2017 All India Rank for admission to B.E/B.Tech

In the institutions other than IITs, the following mechanism is adopted to break the tie in the rank of the candidates who have appeared in JEE Main 2017

  • Candidates who secured higher marks in Mathematics are given better rank
  • If this does not break the tie, candidates who obtained higher marks in Physics are given better rank
  • If the tie still persists, the ratio of positive and negative marks obtained by the candidates in JEE Main has been taken into account. Thus, candidates who had higher absolute value of the ratio have been given higher rank
  • If the tie breaking rules mentioned above did not work, candidates have been given the same rank

  • If the tie still exists, the ratio of positive and negative marks obtained by the candidates in JEE Main 2017 is taken into consideration. Candidates having higher absolute value of ratio is given better rank
  • Candidates are allotted the same rank if the tie does not break after applying the criteria mentioned above
