The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted Paper 1 of JEE Main 2017 for B.Tech/B.E programme in the morning session from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. In the afternoon session, the Paper 2 for B.Arch/B.Planning programme was held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. There are near about 2000 JEE Main 2017 exam centres spread across 104 cities within the country and 9 foreign countries.

  

JEE Main 2017 Analysis by FIITJEE

The Paper 1 of JEE Main 2017 consisted of a total number of 90 questions, divided equally among Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. All the topics were from the syllabus of 11 and 12 prescribed by CBSE. The question paper was of 360 marks. For every correct response candidates will be awarded 4 marks whereas, an incorrect answer will lead to deduction of 1 mark.

R.L.Trikha, Director of FIITJEE has released the analysis of JEE Main 2017 paper 1. As per the expert, the paper was balanced & it was set from CBSE syllabus of Class XI & XII. The detailed analysis of JEE Main 2017 by FIITJEE is as given below:

  • Most of the questions in paper 1 were conceptual with some needing analytical skills.
  • 25 questions were easy, 53 questions were of moderate difficulty & 12 questions were of relatively difficult.
  • In Paper 1 set D, question number 34 & 54 of Physics were tough and needed analytical ability beyond NCERT book /deep study.
  • In Chemistry, there were 2/3 Questions which required deep conceptual understanding and application. In Mathematics section in Paper 1 Set-D, question number 28 was controversial and few questions were lengthy. However serious students found the paper to be relatively easy compared to last year.
  • The overall difficulty level for paper 1 was between easy to moderate.
  • According to the expert of FIITJEE, Students who attempted paper with composed temperament are expected to have attempted the complete paper.

JEE Main 2017 Answer Key by FIITJEE

FIITJEE will release the answer key of JEE Main 2017 Paper 1 on April 02. With the use of the answer key, candidates will be able to calculate the probable score and analyse their performance in JEE Main 2017. JEE Main 2017 Cutoff by FIITJEE

On the basis of JEE Main 2017 paper analysis, the experts of FIITJEE has also declared the expected cutoff of JEE Main 2017. According to the expert, cut-off of JEE Main this year is going to be high around 115.

In the year 2016, the JEE Main cutoff was 100 for General category candidates. For OBC, the cutoff was 70, 52 for SC and 48 for ST. With the ongoing cutoff trend of the past few years, it is expected that the cutoff of JEE Main for this year will witness less variation.

On the basis of JEE Main 2017 cutoff candidates will be granted admission to the NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Also, it will be considered while shortlisting the top 2,20,000 candidates to appear for JEE Advanced for admission to 23 IITs.

JEE Main 2016 Analysis by FITJEE

According to the experts of FIITJEE, the overall question paper of JEE Main 2016 was moderate. The detailed analysis of JEE Main 2016 is given below:

  • In the paper 1 of JEE Main 2016, questions were asked from almost all the chapters. 48 questions were asked from class 12 syllabus whereas 42 questions were from class 11.
  • The paper was over all balanced between class 11 and 12 syllabus. Candidates can check the class wise distribution of marks below:

  • The overall JEE Main Paper I was moderate. However, questions from Physics section were difficult which included topics such as Modern physics, Heat and Thermodynamics, Simple harmonic motion, work power and energy etc.

  • Among the three sections, questions from the mathematics section was the easiest. It had questions from Circle, Progression series, Area, Hyperbola, Logarithm etc.
