JEE Main 2014 Now In Gujarati, Marathi and Urdu


CBSE shall now conduct JEE Main 2014 in more than two languages, Hindi and English. Students will now have the option to attempt the Joint Entrance Examination Main 2014 in languages such as Gujarati, Marathi and Urdu. However, these multilingual papers will be made available at only specific centers of Gujarat and Maharashtra.

JEE Main 2014 will be held in offline mode and online mode to admit candidates into engineering undergraduate programs across the best institutions of the country such as IIITs, NITs. Process of JEE Main 2014 Application Form has already ended on 6 January 2014. Top 1.5 lakh candidates from JEE Main 2014 will be selected for the second tier of the examination, known as JEE Advanced 2014.

On the basis of JEE Advanced 2014, they will be admitted into IITs and ISM. Rest of the candidates can qualify for various CFTIs and SFTIs. Earlier year, only Gujarat adopted JEE Main 2014 system for admissions but this year, three states scrapped their own entrance examination to adopt JEE Main 2014.

These states are Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Odisha who scrapped MP PET 2014, MT CET 2014 and OJEE 2014 respectively. Candidates who have opted for any of the 35 centers in Maharashtra can attempt the exam in Marathi, Urdu, English or Hindi. Those who opt for a centre in Gujarat can take the exam in Gujarati, English or Hindi.

As per official sources, nearly 340 students have registered for writing the exam in Urdu, 938 in Marathi and 60142 in Gujarati. With three more states joining JEE Main 2014, the number of registrations have hiked as well as compared to last year.
