Akshat: Thank you so much! Right now I am really overwhelmed. We haven’t plan anything as of now.

Entrance Corner: Tell us something about yourself? About your family and school.

Akshat: Well, I am not the best person to be able to tell you about myself. My father works in Tata Sky as Vice President, western region and my mother is a homemaker.

My family was an amazing support. They gave me complete space and they never imposed any pressure upon me. I qualified my class 12 from DPS, Pune. The teachers back at my school were also very supportive and were always ready to help me out.

Entrance Corner: What is your score in JEE Advanced 2017? How was your performance in JEE Main?

Akshat: In JEE Advanced, I have scored 335 out of 366. In JEE Main 2017, my score was 345 and my AIR was 7.

Entrance Corner: What was your preparation strategy and routine period for JEE Advanced 2017?

Akshat: I took coaching at Bakliwal Tutorials (BT). So, for 6 hours from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, I used to attend my coaching classes. After coming back home, I used to have my lunch and take rest. In the evening, I devoted 3 to 4 hours in self study.

Entrance Corner: Now that you are the topper of JEE Advanced 2017, what do you think was the key factor behind your spectacular performance in the exam?

Akshat: I believe it was the hard work and dedication. The support of my parents and teachers also played a significant role. The teachers at my coaching institute were very supportive. Whenever I approached them with any kind of problem, they helped me out.

Entrance Corner: It surely was a busy preparation schedule for you. Could you find any time to connect with your friends?

Akshat: Well, my friends were also preparing for JEE so we used to do group studies. As my friends are also very focused, it had a positive outcome as we helped each other with our shortcoming and it also used to break the monotony.

Akshat: I was active on Facebook but I deactivated my account as I found it was very distracting. However, I still use Whatsapp as I believe it can be useful if used in the right way.

Akshat: I love watching TV series. Recently I completed two shows, i.e. ‘Flash’ and ‘Arrow’. Also, I love to read mystery novels and I am a big fan of Sherlock Holmes.

Entrance Corner: Who is your biggest role model in life?

Akshat: There are many people who have inspired me but my biggest role model in Albert Einstein

Entrance Corner: What message would you like to give to the future JEE Advanced aspirants?

Akshat: It is important to study regularly and utilise the time properly. I would also advice aspirants to not neglect other activities. In my opinion, studying for long hours a day makes your mind really tired and exhausted. So, to keep the mind fresh and active, it is important that students do get involved in recreational activities.
