Hyderabad girl, Ramya Narayanasamy emerged as the topper among girls in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced with All India Rank (AIR 35). She has scored 316 out of 366 marks in JEE Advanced, the result of which was declared on June 11, 2017. Ramya wants to pursue Computer Science Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay. The dream of studying in IIT started when Ramya was in Class 8. To realize her dream, joined a new school. Coming from a middle class family where her father is a Chartered Accountant and her mother is a school principal, Ramya hopes to develop a 3D product by pursuing virtual reality projects. Ramya believes that hard work, confidence and perserverance can help anybody to succeed in life.

Entrance Corner: Congratulations on your success in JEE Advanced 2017. How are you planning to celebrate your success?
Ramya Narayanasamy: Thank you! This was indeed a surprise for me. I was overwhelmed by hearing the result. I want to celebrate this day with my family. I expected a rank in JEE Advanced 2017 but never thought that I will top the exam among girls.
Entrance Corner: Tell us something about yourself. About your family and school?
Ramya Narayanasamy: I studied in Mohuns Grammar High School till Class 8 and moved to Narayana School. I studied Class 11 & 12 from Sri Chaitanya Narayana’s IIT Academy at Madhapur. My father is a Chartered Accountant and my mother is the Principal of Mohuns Grammar High School.
Entrance Corner: What is your score in JEE Advanced 2017? How was your preformance in JEE Main?
Ramya Narayanasamy: My score in JEE Advanced 2017 is 316 out of 366 marks and I secured AIR 35. I scored 300 marks in JEE Main out of 360 and my AIR was 338.
Entrance Corner: What was your preparation strategy and routine study period for JEE Advanced?
Ramya Narayanasamy: I focused completely on clearing the basic concepts during my intial stage of preparation. Later, I focussed on thought provoking problems. I dedicated 8 to 10 hours in a day to my studies.
Entrance Corner: Now that you are the topper of JEE Advanced, what do you think was the key factor behind your spectacular performance in the exam?
Ramya Narayanasamy: Hard work, confidence and perserverance are the road map to success and I followed this path.
Entrance Corner: It was quite a busy preparation schedule for you. Could you find time to connect with your friends during your preparation?
Ramya Narayanasamy: No doubt the preparation schedule was quiet busy but I took out time for friends.
Entrance Corner: Are you active on facebook or any other social media platform?Did you turn to any recreational activity before appearing for JEE Advanced exam?
Ramya Narayanasamy: No, I am not active on facebook or any other social media platform.
Entrance Corner: What are your hobbies and interest?
Ramya Narayanasamy: I like reading novels and hanging out with my friends.
Entrance Corner: Do you have any message for future JEE Advanced aspirants?
Ramya Narayanasamy: I want to advise future JEE aspirants to clear their basics, remain calm and do not bother about the exam just give the best.
Entrance Corner: What are your future plans? What do you want to do after engineering?
Ramya Narayanasamy: I am interested in the fields of Augmented Intelligence and Virtual Reality. Therefore, I have decided to pursue graduation in Computer Science from IIT Bombay. After completing my engineering, I want to do business. I hope to develop a 3D product by pursuing virtual reality projects.
