Entrance Corner: What was your preparation strategy for JEE Advanced?
Sarvesh Mehtani: I believe in self-study and developing firm command over concepts. I focused in-depth study of prescribed syllabus so that I could hold over fundamentals of each topic. Along with regular revision, I focused on taking mock tests and solving test papers to evaluate my performance. With each mock test I came to know about my weaknesses and accordingly I planned my preparation strategy. This eventually helped in gaining an edge during the exam and scoring high marks. On an average, I used to spend 7 to 8 hours every day for studying along with my school and coaching. I used to do target-based studies and if I felt that I was falling behind I stretched the study hours to 9 to 10 hours. In a nutshell, my JEE advanced preparation was very disciplined and based on hard work, revision, mock test and routine study. Few days before the exam, I focused more on revision and mock test in order to develop temperament for performing well in the exam.
