Jaypee B.Tech Admissions 2016 Cutoff shall be set by Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT) to delimit the number of candidates in the B.Tech admission program for session 2016-17. It is the selection parameter which is applied to restrict the candidate count and pick the best lot of candidates for consideration in counselling cum seat allotment. Since the institute doesn’t conduct any entrance examination of its own, cutoff would be applied on the basis of marks (or rank) of the candidates in JEE Main 2016. As there are a limited number of seats available for allotment, it becomes important to set up a screening method which is why cutoff comes into play. Read the following article for more information on cutoff.
Application of Jaypee B.Tech Admissions 2016 Cutoff
Cutoff is basically applied over either score or rank. The relation between these two is vice versa i.e. higher the score in JEE Main means lower the rank. Now, to delimit the candidates, cutoff is applied laterally. If the score of the candidate is more than or equal to the cutoff, he would be picked to participate in counselling cum allotment process otherwise not. However when we think of this relation in terms of rank, if a candidate’s rank is lower than or equal to the cutoff, he shall be selected. Thus it is absolutely necessary to perform at level best in JEE Main 2016 to strengthen the chances of selection.
Number of candidates, number of seats, reservation norms, and previous year admission trends – these are some of the factors on which Jaypee B.Tech 2016 Cutoff Score is decided. All the selected candidates would thereafter be enlisted in two merit lists – one for JIIT and another for JUIT+JUIT. Ranking in the merit list would be judged on the basis of JEE Main 2016 marks (60%) and class XII score (40%).
Class XII score from various boards shall be normalized to reach a common scale. For SC/ST/PH candidates, cutoff score would be lowered by 10%. Thus we can observe that Cutoff of Jaypee B.Tech Admissions 2016 ensures that quality of the candidates is maintained in its three institutes. Latest figures of cutoff would be updated here once they are released officially.
