IIT Kanpur to conduct JEE Advanced 2018 on May 20The Joint Admission Board (JAB) will conduct JEE Advanced on May 20, 2018. As per media reports, JAB finalised the exam date in a recent meeting held at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur. Earlier, JAB released a press release stating that JEE Advanced will be conducted online by IIT Kanpur from the upcoming year.


JEE Advanced 2018 will be held for admission to various Btech and BE courses offered at the 23 IITs. Only those candidates who will be among the top 2 lakh (approx) JEE Main rank holders will be allowed to appear for JEE Advanced 2018.

Organising Chairman of JEE Advanced, Prof Shalabh stated that even though the date for the entrance examination has been finalised for May 20, the decision regarding whether JEE Advanced will be a computer-based test or will be held in online mode will be decided in the next 10 days.

In 2017, around 1,59,540 out of 2,20,0000 JEE Main toppers appeared for JEE Advanced on May 21 in the offline mode. Out of the total candidates who appeared for the test, 50,455 candidates qualified for admission into the prestigious 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) of the country.
