IISER 2016 Cutoff

908

All the students seeking admissions to the five-year BS-MS Dual Degree Programs that are offered at the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) will be required to meet the cutoff percentage that is declared by the Institute. The number of seats to the BS-MS Dual Degree Programs being limited, only the top scores in the aptitude test in the SCB stream and the top applicants from the JEE (Advanced) & KVPY channels will be offered admissions to the Institute. The IISER Cutoff is, therefore, declared as the benchmark at which candidates will be offered admissions. Only candidates who meet the IISER 2016 Cutoff will be eligible to participate in the counselling and allotment process. Currently, there are about 1000 seats available for admissions in all the six IISERs at Kolkata, Bhopal, Mohali, Thiruvananthapuram, Pune & Tirupati put together.

The IISER Cutoff 2016 will be displayed on the official website of the Institute i.e iiser-admissions.in for the information of candidates. While 50% of the seats will be filled up through the JEE (Advanced) 2016 and KVPY channels, the remaining seats will be filled up according to the performance of candidates in the aptitude test in the SCB stream for which the cutoff will be decided by the Department of Science & Technology (DST). For a closer analysis of how high or low the cutoffs declared by DST for the various State and Central Boards are likely to be, candidates can take a look at the table given below. The table illustrates the IISER Cutoff for the previous year.
