HPCET M.Tech 2017 Exam Pattern – The candidates aiming to write Himachal M.Tech 2017, must check the exam pattern. HPCET M.Tech 2017 Exam Pattern
The Paper Pattern of HPCET M.Tech 2017 is as mentioned below:
Duration of HPCET 2017 – Candidates will have 3 hours to finish the examination. Request for extra time will not be entertained.
Mode of the Exam – The examination will only be held in Offline/Pen and Paper mode. Candidates will circle their answers in an OMR sheet.
Language: The question paper will only be provided in the English Language.
Total Number of Sections – In all, there will be 3 sections in the exam, for the following:
- Aptitude Test
- Subject Paper
- Engineering Mathematics
The Subject Papers will include the below mentioned disciplines:
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics and Communication Engineering
- Computer Science and Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
About the Question in the Exam – In all the sections, the questions will be of Multiple Choice Type. For each questions four answer options will be mentioned and the candidates need to choose one as their answer.
In all there will be 100 questions and the distribution of it in each section, will be as follows:
- Aptitude Test – 15 MCQ’s
- Subject Paper 60 MCQ’s
- Engineering Mathematics – 25 MCQ’s
Distribution of Marks – As per the HPCET M.TEch 2017 Exam Pattern, the Ttotal marks in the examination will be 200. Each question will be of 2 marks. Hence, the weightage of marks in each section will be:
- Aptitude Test – 30
- Subject Paper – 120
- Engineering Mathematics – 50
Negative and No Marking – The marks will only be awarded if the candidates will choose correct answer as their option. If the candidates will mark incorrect answer, negative marking of 0.5 marks will be done. Whereas, if no answer option has be chosen then the marks will neither be awarded or deducted.

Points to Note about HPCET M.Tech 2017 Exam Pattern
- The candidates must mark the answers with either black or blue pen.
- The candidates must bring their own pen, pencil, eraser, geometry box, etc.
- The cardboard, which the candidates will carry on the exam day must not have anything written on it.
- At the exam hall there will be no safe keeping for the bags or personal belongings.
