Application Process for HAL Recruitment through GATE 2017

The Application Form for HAL Job through GATE 2017 can be filled by following the process below:

Filling the Application Form: Click on the link above and then access the ‘Click Here to Apply’ button. After this, a new window will open. In it, the candidates will have to click on the link for the appropriate post. Following which the application form will open. 

In the application form, candidates will have to submit the following details: 

  • GATE 2017 Registration Number
  • GATE 2017 Paper Code
  • Email ID
  • Name of the Candidates – as per the class X records
  • Gender
  • Date of Birth
  • Mother’s Name
  • Discipline
  • Which category you belong to?
  • Nationality
  • Are you disabled?
  • Do you have internal candidates?
  • E-mail ID

Uploading of Photograph – Once these details are submitted, the candidates will have to upload a recent passport size photograph. The following are the instructions for the photograph:

  • It should be coloured
  • It should be clear
  • It must be of 180 KB

HAL Application Number – Once the form is submitted a HAL registration number will be allocated. Candidates must keep it safe for future purpose.

Selection Process for HAL Recruitment 2017 through GATE

The selection process for the recruitment will be as below:

  • The GATE 2017 qualifiers will be selected on the basis of GATE 2017 score, out of 100.
  • The shortlisted aspirants will be called for Personal Interview (PI), in 1:5 ratio to the number of vacancies.
  • For the final selection, 85% weightage will be given to GATE score and the remaining 15% to the performance of the candidates in the Personal Interview.

Note: Only candidates who qualify in GATE will be eligible for shortlisting for the further interview process. Candidates who have qualified in GATE 2016 or GATE 2015 are not eligible for this recruitment.

Eligibility Criteria for HAL Recruitment through GATE

Nationality: The applicant should be a citizen of Indian.

Age Limit: The candidates should not be more than 28 years old, as on February 7, 2017. The relaxation for the reserved categories is as below:

  • SC/ST – 5 years
  • OBC-NCL – 3 years
  • PwD – 10 years (over the reservation for other categories)
  • J&K Domicile – 5 years (declared domicile between January 1, 1980, to December 12, 1989)
  • Ex-servicemen – As per the norms of Government of India

Upper Age Limit: It should be noted that even despite the reservation, the upper age of the candidates should not exceed 55 years (56 for PwD candidates).

Education Qualifications:

  • Candidate should have completed B.Tech or B.E from a recognized university or institute, in the respective discipline. The course should have been a regular one.
  • The minimum aggregate secured by the candidate in their graduation should not be less than 65%. However, in case of SC/ST/PwD candidates, it is 55%.
  • Final year candidates may also apply, provided they have secured the above specified aggregate marks upto the last semester/ year examination at the time of applying. Moreover they have to fulfil the given criteria at the time of the interview and furnish proof of the same.

Government Employee: Those who are employed in Semi-Govt/Govt/Central/State Govt etc will be required to submit ‘No Objection Certificate’ during the interview.

Pay Scale and Service Bond Details

Training: Selected candidates will have to undergo a training for 52 weeks.

Pay Scale: During the training period, the trainees shall draw a Stipend comprising of Basic Pay of
Rs. 16400/-, Variable Dearness Allowance & Canteen Allowance along with accommodation as per specifications. On completion of the same, they will be absorbed as Engineers in Grade-II with a pay scale of Rs. 16,400-40,500.

Service Agreement Bond: Selected candidates need to execute a service agreement to serve HAL for 5 years failing which they will have to pay the specified costs upto a maximum of Rs. 5,00,000.
