GATE Result 2018GATE Result 2018 – The result of GATE 2018 will be declared on March 17 by IIT Guwahati. The GATE result 2018 will be announced in online mode for all the 23 papers who have appeared in the exam. Candidates can download the GATE 2018 result through GOAPS (GATE Online Application Process System). GATE 2018 score card will be available for download if candidates have qualified in the exam from March 20 to May 31, 2018. After that the score card will be available for download for a fee of Rs. 500 till December 31, 2018. Candidates should note that the GATE score cards will be issued to only those who have secured marks equal to or above the qualifying marks as per their category. The marks of the candidates in GATE 2018 will be computed out of 100 while the GATE Score 2018 will be calculated out of 1000. The normalization method will be considered while calculating GATE result and score 2018. GATE result 2018 will be valid only for three years from the day of the announcement of result. GATE Score Card 2018

Only the qualified can download their GATE score card through GOAPS (GATE Online Application Process System). The authority will release the score card of GATE 2018 from March 20 to May 31, 2018. How to get GATE 2018 Scorecard after last date of downloading?

The link for downloading GATE 2018 scorecard will be available untill December 31, 2018. Candidates are therefore advised to download their GATE scorecard on or before the prescribed date. In case, any candidate fails to download it, they can get it through the GOAPS portal on paying of Rs. 500 (five hundred only). The last date to get scorecard with payment will be notified to the candidates.

How GATE Result is prepared?

The process of standard deviation will be implemented on raw score while calculating GATE 2018 score. The raw score will be calculated as per the marking scheme of GATE 2018 for papers to be held in single session. While, for papers which will be conducted in multiple slots and sessions a process of normalization will be adopted to obtain raw score. What is GATE normalization process and how it is applied?

The process of normalization will be implemented for CE, CS, EC, EE and ME papers as it will be held in in multi- sessions and slots. The normalization is based on the fundamental assumption that “in all multi-session GATE papers, the distribution of abilities of candidates is the same across all the sessions”.

Based on the above assumption and after considering various normalization methods, the GATE committee has derived the below formula for calculating the normalized marks for GATE papers held in the multiple session.

Candidates who secures scores equal to or above GATE cutoff marks are considered qualified for admission and can further apply for admissions or PSU recruitment through GATE.
