The result for CBSE JEE Main 2017 is available only in online mode and can be checked only by entering the required credentials. The exam officials won’t be sending the JEE Main result 2017 via mail, courier, email or SMS. To check the CBSE JEE Main 2017 result, follow the steps provided in the table below –

CBSE JEE Main Result 2017 – Details provided
The following are the details that are printed on the JEE Main Result 2017 –
- The candidate’s All India Rank.
- Candidate’s status on JEE Advanced.

CBSE JEE Main Result 2017 – Tie Breaking Method
If two or more candidates who appeared for JEE Main 2017, have scored equal marks, then the following steps will be used to break the tie –
|1.||The Mathematic score of the candidate obtained in JEE Main 2017. The candidate with higher marks is given higher rank.|
|2.||The candidate with higher marks in Physics in JEE Main 2017 is given preference.|
|3.||Candidate with a higher absolute value of the ratio of positive and negative marks is given better rank.|
|4.||If none of the above steps work out, then the same rank is given to both of the candidates.|
What’s new in CBSE JEE Main Result 2017?
This year, CBSE made a few changes in the JEE Main 2017, which are –
- The marks scored by the candidates in Class 12 have not been considered for calculating the rank and result of JEE Main 2017.
- The candidates who have qualified for admission to the IITs and NITs or other GFTIs must score a minimum of 75% aggregate marks (SC/ST: 65%) in Class 12 exam or be in the top 20 percentile of Class 12 examination.
- Only 2,20,000 top scoring candidates will be shortlisted to appear for JEE Advanced.
Along with the result, CBSE has also released the cutoff scores. Based on various factors like total number of candidates appeared for the test, availability of seats in the Institutes and difficulty level. The JEE Main cutoff marks are the minimum marks required to be eligible to participate in the counselling process. Also, based on the cutoff scores, the top 2,20,000 candidates will be shortlisted for the JEE Advanced 2017. It must be noted that the cutoff scores will vary with the category of the candidates. The rank list of JEE Main 2017 is available online and candidates can access the same by entering their JEE Main roll number and date of birth. The rank list provides the candidate’s score in each subject, All India Rank and category-wise rank. Also, the rank list provides the candidate’s eligibility status for JEE Advanced 2017. Based on this JEE Main 2017 rank list, JoSAA will allocate seats to the candidates into the 31 NITs, 20 IIITs, IIEST, 18 GFTIs and other participating Institutes. Also, on the basis of the rank list of JEE Main, the top 2,20,000 candidates will be shortlisted for JEE Advanced. There are 23 IITs and ISM that will offer around 11000 seats on the basis of the JEE Advanced score.
The JEE Apex Body (JAB) has announced the JEE Main All India Rank (AIR) for all the candidates who have appeared for the test (Paper – I) on April 02, 08 & 09, 2017. The candidate’s All India Rank and category-wise rank will be provided in the JEE Main 2017 AIR. Based on the candidate’s AIR and category-wise rank, they will be allotted seats to the NITs, IITs, IIEST, GFTIs, and other institutes. It must be noted that the AIR will be different for B.E. / B.Tech and B.Arch. / B. Planning programmes. The JEE Main 2017 All India Rank list will display the following of the candidates –
