BITSAT Exam Pattern 2015


Exam pattern of an exam reveals all the fundamentals of it. Candidates can do wonders, once they know every facet of it. Esp. for the exams, like Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT), which is conducted at all India level, it helps in preparing a well knitted strategy.

BITSAT Exam Pattern 2015, will also unravel aspects of questions paper. It will, basically, make aware about the sections in exam, the type of questions which will be in each section, marking scheme and much more. Knowing the marking scheme is very helpful. Candidates will know which subject or concept hold more weightage than other, and as per it they may invest their time and efforts.

BITSAT Exam Pattern 2015 – Details

Mode of Test: BITSAT is conducted in Online mode only. Candidates have complete liberty to toggle between the questions. Candidate may also alter their answer choice.

Language: English will be the only language, in which candidates will be allowed to write the paper.

Duration of Test: All the candidates will receive 180 minutes, i.e 2 hours, to write the test. No candidates, belonging to any category, will be granted extra time.

Sections in the Test: Question paper will be divided into 4 sections. Section one and two will comprise of questions from Physics and Chemistry, respectively. Whereas, section four will be related to Mathematics/ Biology. However, all the candidates will have to write section three which will carry questions from General English and Logical Reasoning.

Questions in Test: There will be 150 questions, in all. These will be of multiple choice type and candidates will have to solve all. Section one and two will have 40 questions, each. However, section three will be sub-categorized into two; English section will carry 15 questions and there will be 10 questions of Logical Reasoning. Section four consist 45 questions, making it, the section with the highest weightage.

Marking Scheme of Test: Each question will be of three marks. However, candidates should remember that for marking wrong answer, negative marking of one mark will be done. Also, marks will not be awarded or deducted for not marking any option.

BITSAT Exam Pattern – Important Tips

  • On the exam day, candidates must carry allotted admit card.
  • Apart from this, candidates should bring only a pen. Rough sheet will be provided in the exam hall. No extra item should be brought.
  • Highly meritorious candidates will be given 12 extra questions, to score more. However, provision of negative marking will be applicable on these as well.
