WBJEE 2012 FAQS

Q1. What is the eligibility criteria?

Ans. The applicant must be a citizen of India and should have passed the H.S.(10+2) or its equivalent examination. The general candidates must have to secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology taken together (40% for SC/ST candidates) and at least 30% marks in English (for all categories). In addition, candidates must secure at least pass marks in the subjects individually including vernacular

Q2. What is the criteria for reservation of seats?

Ans. The criteria for reservation of seats is:

  • For West Bengal Students :- 90% seats reserved ( Based on WBJEE 2012 score )
  • For Other states :- 10% seats reserved ( Based on AIEEE 2012 Score )

Q3. Is it a state level exam or an All-India level exam?

Ans. It is a state level exam.

Q4. When is the entrance exam?

Ans. The exam in the month of April 2012.

Q5. What is the exam pattern?

Ans. In JEM exam three different papers are conducted in a day:

  • Paper 1:Mathematics
  • Paper 2:Physics &
  • Paper 3:Chemistry

Candidates who want to apply for Engineering and Architecture courses have to appear for Paper 1 & 2.

Q6. Where are the application forms available?

Ans. The application forms are available at UNITED BANK OF INDIA

Q7. From which date to which date will application forms be available?

Ans. The Application Kit will be available from last week of November 2011.

Q8. In whose favour is the DD to be drawn?

Ans. The DD is to be drawn in favour of “WEST BENGAL JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS BOARD” payable at Howrah/Kolkata.

Q9. What is the last date for receipt of duly filled in application forms?

Ans. The last date for receipt of forms is Second week of December 2011.

Q10. How should the forms be sent?

Ans. The forms should be sent by courier only and not by hand or courier.
