About Exam (VMU AICEE 2012):
Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology, AVIT was established in the year 1998 as an affiliated institution under the University of Madras. It was later affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. In 2004, the institution was brought under the ambit of Vinayaka Missions University, Salem.
Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology encompasses a sprawling 48.7 acres campus with a built-up area of 5.65 lakhs sq.ft. AVIT is an ISO 9001:2000 certified institution with the major programmes accredited by the NBA-AICTE. The college is committed to impart quality education to students from different socio-economic backgrounds. It offers under-graduate programmes in 14 different disciplines and five post-graduate programmes including the Master of Computer Applications and Master of Business Administration courses. It also offers part–time programmes in four undergraduate streams and four postgraduate streams.

Eligblity Criteria for VMU AICEE 2012:
A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology (PCM/PCB) Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) candidates are eligible for all the programmes Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) candidates are eligible only for B.Tech. Bioinformatcics and Biotechnology programmes
B.E Lateral Entry (Direct 2nd Year, from III semester) : A Pass in BSc Degree with Maths as a subject/ Diploma in Engineering in the relevant discipline
Age Limit:
Candidate shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission.
Admission Procedure 2012:
Candidates who are interested in pursuing Engineering studies can either download the Application Form from the website or approach the Admission Cell at the Corporate Office at the following address to enquire about the various courses.
Candidates are requested to read all the instructions given in the application form. The filled-in application forms should be submitted with the relevant documents to the Admission Officer at the Admission Cell.
All admissions (including those of foreign/ NRI students) are made subject to eligibility and according to the norms set by the Supreme Court of India, Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu.
Relevant Rules & Regulations in respect of admission :
It is essential to fill in the application form with correct details. In the event of furnishing incorrect information:
- He/ she will forfeit the admission irrespective of what stage of the course he/ she is in at that point of time when it is detected.
- He/ she will be debarred from pursuing any course of study.
Legal action will be instituted against him/ her for furnishing wrong information.
Eligibility for Admission 2012:
The eligibility requirements for the different programmes offered are provided in the prospectus, in the respective pages, pertaining to the departments concerned.
Enclosures for all students:
The filled-in application should be accompanied by the following documents :
- An attested photocopy of X pass/ Matriculation/ Secondary School Certificate issued by the Board of Examination.
- An attested photocopy of the Mark Sheet of the qualifying examination
- Transfer Certificate from the institute last studied in/ Migration Certificate
- Conduct Certificate
- Community Certificate
- Three passport-size photographs
- Any other documents required by the University
Foreign Students :
- In addition to the above certificates the FOREIGN STUDENTS must also submit
- No Objection Certificate from the Government of India (issued by Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi)
- No Objection Certificate issued by the Ambassador of the country where the candidate hails from or the competent authority empowered to grant permission to stay and pursue education in India
- Eligibility Certificate from the University
- Appropriate Student Visa.
- All relevant travel documents inclusive of passport
- Necessary Health Certificate and Vaccination Certificate
