VITEEE 2012

The VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology) conducts a common entrance exam known as Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam for admission in different courses in technology and engineering. The VITEEE 2012 is scheduled to be held in 21st April, 2012. The examination centers would be placed in all the Indian city majors and the duration of the examination is from 2:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m.

  • M.Tech (Master of Technology)
  • M.Sc (Master of Sciences)

VITEEE 2012 Eligibility

The candidate appearing for VITEEE 2012 have to pass in the 10+2 or an equivalent with an average of minimum 60% marks in Chemistry, Physics and Biology/ Mathematics (PCB/PCM).

For the candidates belonging to Schedule Caste / Schedule Tribe status and for the applicants hailing from N.E. states as well as J&K, the cut off is 50 % in Chemistry, Physics and Biology/ Mathematics (PCB/PCM) in 10+2 or its equivalent examination.

Physics, Biology and Chemistry candidates would be eligible only for the B.Tech Bioinformatics, Biotechnology and Bio-Medical Engineering Programs.

Candidates who are appearing for 10+2 exam in 2012 March-April would also be eligible for application in VITEEE 2012.

Candidates applying for VITEEE 2012 should not be over 20 years of age.

VITEEE 2012 Application Submission Procedure

The application for VITEEE 2012 can be made both online and offline.

For online application the candidate has to obtain a DD of 900 INR drawn in the favor of Vellore Institute of Technology University payable at the city of Vellore. The applicants must log on to www.vit.ac.in, the official website of VIT to fill up the application details and after the fill up they would be given their VIT-ID. Then the applicants have to take out a print out of their application form and send it with the DD and Payment Advice Form to VIT.

The online form fill up for VITEEE 2012 have to be done within 8 a.m-9p.m.

The offline application form along with information brochure and Prospectus can be obtained from many post offices by paying a sum of 900 INR.

VITEEE 2012 Exam Pattern

  • Objective form of questions only
  • VITEEE 2012 exam paper will have 4 parts
  • Applicants for engineering programs have to attempt Part 1, 2, 3
  • Applicants for the Bio-Medical stream would go for Part 1, 2, 4
  • Applicants with PCMB in 10+2 can choose to opt between Part 1, 2, 4 or part 1, 2, 3
  • There would be 120 questions with each carrying 1 mark and 40 questions per section
  • There will be no negative marking
  • Questions would be based on CBSE syllabi and that of State Board of H.S. School

  • Declaration of the VITEEE Results: 2nd week of May, 2012
  • Counseling of students in VITEEE 2012: 4th week of May, 2012
  • Commencement of the classes: 1st week of July, 2012.
