VITEEE 2017– The VIT University will conduct VITEEE from April 05 to 16, 2017, in online mode. The application form of VITEEE 2017 has been ended on March 15, 2017. To facilitate more candidates for filling the form, the VIT university extended the last date of application form. The application form status portal has also been activated. The candidates may check the status of their application form by clicking on the link provided below. The registered candidates can modify the incorrect details filled in the VITEEE application form 2017 through the correction window which will be available from 3rd week of March 2017, tentatively. Only the registered candidates can book VITEEE exam slot in online mode from March 19 to 22, 2017. The VIT Engineering Entrance Examination 2017 will be held in almost 120 cities, for filling almost 5000 seats in the Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal and Amaravati campus. The admission to the candidate will be granted on the basis of score secured in the exam. However, the candidates will have to fulfil the eligibility criteria as well. - The Amaravati and Bhopal campus will become functional from July 2017, i.e the upcoming session.
- One more centre, Tanuku with code 109, has been added to the Andhra Pradesh state.
- Eluru centre, which was earlier the centre for both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana State, is now only for the AP state. Also, the code for it has been changed from 187 to 103.
About VIT University
Choosing a correct University for higher education is important in various senses. The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) University, established in 1984 by Dr G. Viswanathan, is a private University which is deemed under the section 3 of the UGC Act. Currently, it offers 20 UG and 34 PG courses.
The UG engineering courses, for which almost 2 lakh candidates apply each year, offered by the University are given in the table below. VITEEE is held for the intake of the candidates in following courses only.

Candidates who wish to apply for VITEEE should fulfil the following requirements:
- The candidates should have been born on or after 1 July 1995.
- Candidates may be a Residents or Non-Resident of India.
- Only those candidates are eligible to apply who have completed their qualifying examination from Regular, Full Time, and Formal Educational institution. However, since last year, the NIOS students have also been included in the list of eligible candidates.
- It is vital that the aspirant must have secured 60% aggregate in with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology subjects, in the qualifying examination (10+2/Intermediate)
- However, for SC/ST candidates and the residents of the North Eastern States, the criterion is 50%.
The application form of VITEEE 2017 is available separately for the National and the International candidates. The forms for both the candidates has been released but the international candidates can only avail it online. On the other hand, the Indian nationals can fill and submit it online or offline.
Online Application – The online application form for the nationals under both the categories can be accessed from the provided links above. To submit it, the candidates will have to register by submitting Name, Date of Birth, Nationality, Mobile Number, and E-mail Address. In return, a Password will be allocated and with the help of it, the candidates will be able to login and fill the application form of VITEEE 2017.
Offline Application – To acquire the offline application form, the candidates may visit the admission office of Vellore and Chennai campus and purchase it by submitting the fee via DD. Else, the forms is also available at the designated branches of Post Offices and VIT Chennai and Vellore Campus, admission office.
Application Fee – The fee amount for the offline application form is Rs. 990, whereas, the same for online form is Rs. 970. The candidates can submit it online, via Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or by sending a DD, in favour of “VIT University” payable at Vellore, or by remitting it in cash at the Post Office or Admission Office.
Note: For purchasing the offline VITEEE 2017 Application Form 2017, the candidates will have to write a letter at the address mentioned at the end of this article.
The slot booking, in an examination, is that procedure in which the candidate confirms the exam date, day, slot and center. It is usually done for those examinations in which the exam is held in the window of many days, like VITEEE 2017.
The slot booking of VITEEE made available form March 19, 2017. The VITEEE slot booking application will be a real a time window and candidates will have to book a test date, day, slot and centre in a duration one minute. The slot will be allotted on the first-cum-first basis and the candidates will not be given any chance to change it after the booking. The information about the slots will also be announced through the information brochure.
As soon as the candidates will book a slot, the admit card will be issued to them. Such is because the VITEEE 2017 admit card will contain the personal and test date, day, centre etc. details.
Without the admit card, the candidates will not be allowed to write the examination and to acquire it is vital to fulfil the formalities of slot booking.
The candidates will have to choose an exam centre while booking a slot. The centres of the examination will be scattered across the nation, making the choice for selecting the centre easy. The VIT entrance examination 2017 will only be held in online mode. It will only contain multiple choice questions, for which four options will be given but only one will be correct. The duration of the examination will be two and a half hours and in it, the candidates will have to solve 125 questions of one mark each. There will no negative marking in the examination and the distribution of questions and marks will be as below:

The Syllabus of VITEEE 2017 has been determined to assess the knowledge and aptitude of the aspirants for higher education in engineering. However, it is mostly based on the class X and XII syllabus. The sample papers of VITEEE 2017 are available online. The candidates may use it to understand the pattern of the paper and to evaluate their preparation level. The University releases the official model paper, on the website, and it is the best material to crack the exam. The candidates can access VITEEE 2017 model paper and sample paper by clicking on the caption of the paragraph.
The minimum marks required by the candidates to qualify the examination are called as cutoff. However, the VIT University does not use the cutoff to segregate the candidates. Instead, it uses an equating mechanism to evaluate the performance of the candidates.
VITEEE 2017 will be held in online mode. Hence, for it, the answer key will not be released. Yet, if it does we will update it here for our readers.
As stated above, the result of VITEEE 2017 will release on or before April 24, 2017. It will be evaluated by using equating mechanism. It directly calculates the percentile of the candidates and determines the rank as per it.
The result can only be checked online, by submitting the Application Number and Password. The link to check it will be provided on this page. The candidates will not be able to challenge the allocated rank, under any circumstances.
The counselling of VITEEE 2017 will be held in two sessions. The first Phase will be held in 1st or 2nd week of May 2017. In it, the seat will be allocated to the candidates on the basis of their All India Rank. The candidates will have to attend it in person and the following documents will be required during seat allocation:
- VITEEE 2017 admit card
- VITEEE 2017 Counselling admit card
- Copy of VITEEE 2017 result
- Class 10th certificated or birth certificate
- Class 12th mark sheet
- Community certificate, applicable if belonging to SC/ST category
- Nativity certificate, if the candidate hails from J&K, North Eastern States, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.

VITEEE 2017 Scholarship Program
The University provides the scholarship under GV School Development Programme (GVSDP). The scholarship is granted to:
- Board toppers of central and each state – To the toppers 100% tuition fee waiver is granted.
- VITEEE rank holders upto 10000 – The top 10000 rank holders of VITEEE 2017 will be granted Rs. 50000 scholarship.
- VITEEE 2017 rank holders upto 2000 – The rank holders from 10001 to 20000 will also receive the scholarship of Rs. 25000.
Note: The scholarship will be granted as above for the first year. However, next year onwards it will be maintained only if each year the students can maintain their CGPA uopto or over 8.0.
