VITEEE 2017 – The VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) 2017 has been conducted successfully from April 05 to 16, by VIT University. The exam was held in three slots. The result has been declared by the University on April 23, 2017. Candidates can check result of VITEEE in online mode only. Along with VITEEE 2017 result, candidates can check the rank list, containing score and rank in the entrance examination. The University has started VITEEE counselling process phase-I for eligible candidates with rank 01 to 20,000 from May 10 to 12, 2017. The candidates will be granted admission to around 20 undergraduate engineering courses offered by four campuses of VIT University. Apart from VIT campuses in Vellore and Chennai, the university has established two new campuses in Bhopal (MP) and Amaravathi (AP). About VIT University
Choosing a correct University for higher education is important in various senses. The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) University, established in 1984 by Dr G. Viswanathan, is a private University which is deemed under the section 3 of the UGC Act. Currently, it offers 20 UG and 34 PG courses.

The result of VITEEE 2017 has been released on April 23, 2017. It is evaluated by using equating mechanism. It directly calculates the percentile of the candidates and determines the rank as per it.
The result can only be checked online by submitting the application number and password. The link to check the same has been provided above on this page. The candidates will not be able to challenge the allocated rank, under any circumstances.
The counselling of VITEEE 2017 is being held in two sessions. The first phase is being held from May 10 to 12, 2017. In it, the seats are allocated to the candidates on the basis of their All India Rank. The candidates have to attend it in person and the following documents have to produced during seat allocation:
- VITEEE 2017 admit card
- VITEEE 2017 Counselling admit card
- Copy of VITEEE 2017 result
- Class 10th certificated or birth certificate
- Class 12th mark sheet
- Community certificate, applicable if belonging to SC/ST category
- Nativity certificate, if the candidate hails from J&K, North Eastern States, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
Candidates who wish to apply for VITEEE should fulfil the following requirements:
- The candidates should have been born on or after 1 July 1995.
- Candidates may be a Residents or Non-Resident of India.
- Only those candidates are eligible to apply who have completed their qualifying examination from Regular, Full Time, and Formal Educational institution. However, since last year, the NIOS students have also been included in the list of eligible candidates.
- It is vital that the aspirant must have secured 60% aggregate in with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology subjects, in the qualifying examination (10+2/Intermediate)
- However, for SC/ST candidates and the residents of the North Eastern States, the criterion is 50%.
The application form of VITEEE 2017 is available separately for the National and the International candidates. The forms for both the candidates has been released but the international candidates can only avail it online. On the other hand, the Indian nationals can fill and submit it online or offline.
Online Application – The online application form for the nationals under both the categories can be accessed from the provided links above. To submit it, the candidates will have to register by submitting Name, Date of Birth, Nationality, Mobile Number, and E-mail Address. In return, a Password will be allocated and with the help of it, the candidates will be able to login and fill the application form of VITEEE 2017.
Offline Application – To acquire the offline application form, the candidates may visit the admission office of Vellore and Chennai campus and purchase it by submitting the fee via DD. Else, the forms is also available at the designated branches of Post Offices and VIT Chennai and Vellore Campus, admission office.
Application Fee – The fee amount for the offline application form is Rs. 990, whereas, the same for online form is Rs. 970. The candidates can submit it online, via Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or by sending a DD, in favour of “VIT University” payable at Vellore, or by remitting it in cash at the Post Office or Admission Office.
Note: For purchasing the offline VITEEE 2017 Application Form 2017, the candidates will have to write a letter at the address mentioned at the end of this article.
The slot booking, in an examination, is that procedure in which the candidate confirms the exam date, day, slot and center. It is usually done for those examinations in which the exam is held in the window of many days, like VITEEE 2017.
The slot booking of VITEEE was made available form March 19, 2017. The VITEEE slot booking application was a real time window and candidates had to book a test date, day, slot and centre in a duration of one minute. The slots were allotted on the first-cum-first basis and the candidates were not given any chance to change it after the booking.
Candidates were issued admit card after the completion of the slot booking. Such is because the VITEEE 2017 admit card contain the personal and test date, day, centre etc. details. Candidates without the possession of the admit card were not allowed to write the examination under any circumstances.
The candidates had to choose an exam centre while booking a slot. The centres of the examination was scattered across the nation, making the choice for selecting the centre easy. The VITEEE 2017 was held in online mode and in English medium only. The question paper was divided into four sections – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. Each section comprised 40 questions and English had 05 questions in the form of multiple choice questions. To complete the paper of 125 questions, the candidates were given 02 hours 30 minutes. For each correct answer, one mark was awarded. There was no negative marking for incorrect answers. The candidates can check the table below for a better idea of VITEEE exam pattern 2017:

The Syllabus of VITEEE 2017 has been determined to assess the knowledge and aptitude of the aspirants for higher education in engineering. However, it is mostly based on the class X and XII syllabus. The sample papers of VITEEE 2017 are available online. The candidates may use it to understand the pattern of the paper and to evaluate their preparation level. The University releases the official model paper, on the website, and it is the best material to crack the exam. The minimum marks required for the candidates to qualify the examination are called as cutoff. However, the VIT University does not use the cutoff to segregate the candidates. Instead, it uses an equating mechanism to evaluate the performance of the candidates.
VITEEE 2017 was held in online mode. Hence, for it, the answer key was not released.

VITEEE 2017 Scholarship Program
The University provides the scholarship under GV School Development Programme (GVSDP). The scholarship is granted to:
- Board toppers of central and each state – To the toppers 100% tuition fee waiver is granted.
- VITEEE rank holders upto 10000 – The top 10000 rank holders of VITEEE 2017 will be granted Rs. 50000 scholarship.
- VITEEE 2017 rank holders upto 2000 – The rank holders from 10001 to 20000 will also receive the scholarship of Rs. 25000.
Note: The scholarship will be granted as above for the first year. However, next year onwards it will be maintained only if each year the students can maintain their CGPA uopto or over 8.0.
