UPSEE 2017 – AKTU will conduct Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination on April 16, 2017. The application form of UPSEE has released on January 18, 2017, at 11:00 am. The candidates will be able to submit the form until February 28, 2017. The Domicile of U.P, as well as, Non-Domicile of U.P, can apply for Uttar Pradesh SEE 2017. The entrance test will be held for the intake of candidates in more than 300 colleges. The selected candidates will be granted admission in, almost, 44 undergraduate engineering courses. What’s New in UPSEE 2017?
The Aadhaar card number has been included as a mandatory field in the application form. Candidates without the Aadhaar number will not be able to apply for UPSEE 2017. AKTU did not release any prior official notice about making the Aadhaar number compulsory to fill up the form.
The application fee for all the categories has increased. Earlier, it was Rs. 500 for SC/ST candidates but now its Rs. 600. Similarly, the application fee for the General/OBC/Transgender has increased from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 1200.
Kanpur Dehat is a new addition to the list of exam centres. Hence, the total number of exam centres are now 49.

There is no offline application form for UPSEE 2017. Candidates can only submit the form online, by accessing the link above. The process for UPSEE Online Registration is as below.
Filling SEE-UPTU 2017 Application Form – Access the link above and click on ‘Apply’ button. Read all the displayed instructions and then tab ‘Click here to Proceed’ button. Following this, the application form will be displayed and in it, the candidates will have to submit the following details:
- Personal Details
- Course and Exam City Options
- Educational Details
- Seeking Admission & Courses Applied For
- Communication Details
- Choose Password
- Enter Security Pin.
Uploading Images: Once these details are submitted, the candidates will have to upload a scanned Photograph, Signature, and Left Thumb Impression. The specification for all of these are as below:
- Photographs – Size should be between 4KB – 100KB (3.5 cm X 4.5 cm).
- Thumb – Size must be 1KB – 30KB (3.5 cm X 1.5 cm).
- Signature – Size has to be between 1KB – 30KB (3.5 cm X 1.5 cm).
Note: All the images are to be uploaded in one-go, partial uploading will not be accepted.
Fee Payment: Even the application fee for UPSEE 2017 can only be submitted online. Candidates can choose to remit it either through Debit/Credit card or Net Banking. The fee amount is as below:
- For SC/ST Candidates – Rs. 600
- For General/OBC/Transgender Candidates – Rs. 1200
Confirmation Page: After fee payment, the candidates will be able to download the confirmation page. The candidates need not send the confirmation page to the University. However, the registration number mentioned in it must be secured properly. Also, a copy of confirmation page can be saved for future reference.
Partial Correction details in UPSEE 2017 Application Form
AKTU has made available all the details regarding UPSEE 2017 Application Form correction facility that will open from March 27 to 29, 2017. The facility will be only available for the candidates who have submitted the online application form before February 28, 2017. Each registered candidate who has completed the registration process and paid the application fees can correct the details only once in the filled in application form. This facility will be completely a different process that will be activated only on the due date. The candidates can correct only partial details in the form. No, new application forms will be available during this process.
According to the official notification, the Correction/Update facility will only be available on the above-mentioned dates only for those applicants who completed the step by step application process during the online registration.
Candidates have to “login” to edit the UPSEE 2017 Application Form. However, candidates can correct other details except for the following fields in the application form:
- Name of the Applicant
- Application Number
- Father’s Name
- Mother’s Name
- Date of Birth
After making necessary corrections candidates will be generated a “Revised Confirmation Page”. Candidates must take a print out of the form a nd keep it safely until counselling/admission.
Before filling the application form, the candidates must check if they are eligible for admission or not. Candidates who can apply for UPSEE 2017 are those who:
- Have passed 10+2 from any institute located in U.P.
- Who have not passed 10+2 from an institute in U.P but their parents are domicile of U.P. In this case, the candidates will have to produce domicile certificate of their parents. The document has to be produce during document verification round.
- Candidates, who have studied from an institute outside U.P and whose parents are not domicile can also apply.
All of these candidates will only be granted admission if they fulfill the UPSEE 2017 eligibility criteria mentioned below:
Age limit: There is no age bar in UPSEE 2017.
Education Qualification: Candidates must qualify 10+2 level examination or any other equivalent examination with minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST category) collectively in required three subjects.
The subject combination in 10+2 should be Physics and Mathematics, as core subjects. e Out of Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Biology, Technical Vocational any one should be the optional subject. It should be ensured that the applicant must have qualified 10+2 without grace.
Note: Candidates appearing for qualifying examination in current year can also apply. However, they must satisfy the remaining eligibility criteria and their qualifying exam result must be announced till the date of document verification round.
15% seats have been reserved by State Government for Management Quota and NRI candidates. Remaining 85% seats will be filled with UPSEE 2017 qualifiers. The reservation for the seats which are to be filled state level exam qualifiers is as below.
For Non-U.P Domicile – 10% seats in Technology and Architecture courses, under UPSEE 2017, are to be filled with Non-U.P Domicile candidates. These seats will be filled on the basis of Merit in UPSEE. However, it should be noted that U.P Government can make changed in this reservation till the time of counselling.
For U.P Domicile – Certain number of seats are reserved for candidates belonging to specific categories of Uttar Pradesh. The category wise reservation of seats is given in the table below:

- Admit Card will be available online to every candidate on April 07, 2017.
- Before downloading the admit card, candidates must check all the details mentioned on the admit card.
- Candidates have to take the admit card along with them on the examination day. Candidates without the admit card will not be allowed to appear in the examination under any circumstances.
- The Admit card should be preserved until the admission process is completed.

The facets of exam pattern are as stated below:
Mode – All the papers of UPTU SEE 2017 will be conducted in offline mode. Candidates will have to mark the answers in OMR sheet with either blue or black pen.
Language of Exam – The question paper will be provided in the English language.
Sections – Candidates will have to attempt three section for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology. The codes for the papers are as below:
Paper Code – The code for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics is Paper I. Whereas, the code for Physics, Chemistry and Biology is Paper 2.
Duration: Candidates will 3 hours to attempt all the papers. The duration of the exam is 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Questions in UPSEE 2017: All the questions will be objective type, in which 4 answers options will be provided for each one. Only on the option will be correct. The distribution of questions in the examination will be as below.
- Physics: 50 MCQs
- Chemistry: 50 MCQs
- Mathematics/Biology: 50 MCQs
- Total Question: 150 MCQs
Marking Scheme: Each question will carry 4 marks, which will only be allocated if candidates will choose the correct option as the answer. In all, the question paper will of total 600 marks. There will no negative marking in the examination.
Sample Papers of UPSEE 2017 will help the candidates to get a fair idea about the pattern of the question paper. Solving sample papers will help the candidates to prepare more effectively for the examination. Candidates will get to know about important topics to be covered, weight age of marks and the difficulty level of the paper they can expect in the main examination. Candidates will also be able to manage their time while solving the paper, eliminate silly errors and increase their accuracy and speed level. Therefore, it is highly advisable to candidates that they indulge in regular practice of UPSEE 2017 Sample Papers to perform well in the examination.
AKTU will provide the official UPSEE Answer Key 2017 along with the result. The result is expected to be announced on or before May 30, 2017. The conducting body will upload the answer key online, as per the Subject Paper and Set. Candidates will have to download it for their paper set and then match the answers.
There also a possibility that the unofficial UPSEE Answer Key will be released on the exam day. These keys will be provided by various coaching institutes. Candidates may use it to predict their score. However, the predicted score should not be taken as the final result.
- The Result of UPSEE 2017 will be declared online on or before May 30, 2017.
- No other mode will be available to check the result.
- Candidates must take a print-out of the result and keep it safe for future reference.
- If unsatisfied with the result, candidates can get their answer sheet scrutinized within seven days from declaration of result.
Unlike most of the entrance examination, the candidates can send request for re-checking of answer sheet. The sheets can be scrutinized by paying Rs. 5000 per paper. However, this can only be done within seven days from the deceleration of the result. The scrutiny application is to be send at the address below:

- Separate Rank list will be prepared for candidates based on the performance of the candidates in UP SEE 2017.
- After the declaration of the result, candidates can check their merit position, score card with total marks and marks obtained in each subject.
- In case of a tie, inter- se- merit of such candidates will be determined using the following methods:
- The candidate with lesser number of incorrect answers will be given higher rank.
- If this does not break the tie, candidate obtaining more marks in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry sections in UPSEE 2017 will be assigned higher rank.
- If the tie still persists, candidates with higher age will be allotted higher rank.
The Cutoff of UPSEE 2017 is the minimum score at which admission to various undergraduate engineering courses will be offered by the participating institutes. Only the candidates who meet the minimum cutoff marks will be able to take admission into their desired course offered by the Participating Institutes.
- Candidates qualifying in UPSEE 2017 will be called for counselling on the basis of the rank obtained by them.
- Selected candidates will have to register themselves online using their application number and password.
- After registration, candidates will require to pay the registration fee in order to be able to fill up the choices.
- The registration fee has to be paid only online through Credit card/ Debit card/ Net banking. The registration fee is given in the table below:

- After the payment of the registration fee, the registration process will be complete.
- Candidates can now log in with their application number and password to fill up their choices.
Qualified candidates will be allotted seats to various undergraduate engineering courses and colleges in the State through the seat allotment process. Candidates who have paid the registration fee and have locked their choices have to get their documents verified at the document verification centre. After the verification of documents, candidates will be allotted seats according to their preferences.
