TAMIL NADU ENGINEERING ADMISSIONS, 2012 ADMISSIONS TO THE FIRST YEAR B. E. / B. TECH. DEGREE COURSES

Applications are invited for the unified single window admission for first year B. E. / B. Tech. Degree Programme 2012 to the University Departments of Anna Universities, Government and Government Aided Engineering Colleges and for the seats surrendered by the Self – Financing Engineering Colleges.


Reservation of seats :

  • For Tamil Naidu students :- 100% seats reserved ( Based on TNEA 2012 score )
  • For other states :- 49 seats reserved in Anna University only ( Based on TNEA 2012 score )


Selection Procedure TNEA 2012

  • The selection of candidates will be on the basis of the marks obtained in the prescribed subjects in the qualifying examination. The academic marks in the prescribed subjects will be reduced to 200. (Mathematics 100, Physics + Chemistry =100) which will be considered for Ranking.
  • The qualifying is 12th board/HSC. The admission will be done on the basis of 12th Board exam.

TNEA 2012 Important Dates

Following are the TNEA 2012 IMPORTANT DATES :

Commencement of online/internet registration and issue of application form in person-1st February, 2012

Last date for online/internet registration and issue of application at co-ordinating centres-25th February, 2012

Date of entrance test

MBA: 31st March, 2012, Saturday, 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon

MCA: 31st March, 2012, Saturday, 02.30 p.m. to 04.30 p.m.

M.E./ M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan: 01st April, 2012, Sunday, 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon

Candidates have to appear for the entrance test at the allotted centres at their own cost and risk

TNEA 2012 Application Submission Process

Following is the TNEA 2012 Application Submission Procedure :

Candidates can get the application form from Centre for Entrance Examinations or various centers from Tamilnadu on payment of Rs.500 (Rs.250 in case of SC, SCA, ST candidates belonging to Tamilnadu). Application form can also get by post from The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA), Anna University, Chennai – 600 025 with a Demand Draft for Rs.700 (Rs.450 in case of SC/SCA/ST students). Candidates can also apply through website www.annauniv.edu.
