About Exam
Siksha O Anusandhan University Admission Test (SAAT 2012), a National Level Entrance Test is conducted by Siksha O Anusandhan University every year to attract young and bright students from different parts of our country. The test will be conducted for different programs offered in different constituent institutes of the University. SAAT 2012, the fourth edition of this entrance test and will be held in the month of May 2012 at 60 centers across 40 cities of India. The test is primarily an objective type written test and the standard of the test is comparable with any other national level entrance test of recognized university. The test is of Optical Mark Reader (OMR) type and all measures are adhered to maintain credibility of the selection process. This University has a special feature such as reservation for women besides SC&ST as per Government norms. Short listed candidates will be called to attend an open counseling for admission into various programs of the University. Another feature of this entrance test is that the candidates with diploma in engineering/ technology/ pharmacy and hotel management are eligible for admission into regular courses under lateral entry scheme.
Reservation of seats :
Seats are reserved for SC, ST and Women as per the UGC /AICTE norms being implemented by Siksha ‘O' Anusandhan University.

- 65% seats filled on the basis of SAAT 2012 score
- 35% seats filled on the basis of AIEEE 2012 score
Admission Procedure for SAAT 2012
The students are admitted through SAAT/AIEEE or any equivalent National level entrance test. There is also provision of Lateral Entry of 10% of sanctioned intake for Diploma holders directly to the 3 rd Semester in their respective branch of study as per the University guidelines. All students admitted to the Institute shall have to abide by the rules and regulations of the Institute. Decision of the Institute's authorities in this regard is binding on all students. Students admitted to the Institute have to give an undertaking to the above effect countersigned by the parents / guardian.
How to Apply?
Applicants can obtain Application form and Information Brochure for SAAT through three ways given below
Through Online: University website www.soa.university.ac.in will provide the application form online which can be downloaded and filled by the applicant. Then it should be send with a draft of Rs.750/- payable at Bhubaneshwar taken in the name of SIKSHA O ANUSANDHAN UNIVERSITY, Bhubaneshwar to the concerned authority.
By post: By sending draft of Rs.800/- to the concerned authority, applicant can get form and brochure through post. For that a self addressed envelope should also be send with the draft by the applicant.
Directly by paying Cash: The centers where applicants can directly receive form and brochures by paying cash of Rs.750/- are University counters, Central Bank of India, Axis Bank, Punjab National Bank and Syndicate Bank.
How to fill the Form?
Application number should be noted by the applicant before filling the form with capital letters. While giving information in the rectangular box, don’t forget to darken the corresponding circle beneath it. Make sure no mark is made on the Bar codes. Paste recent black and white photograph. Name, Date of Birth etc should be written exactly as what specified on first board or pre-university examination certificate. Thumb impression of the Left hand should be put on the specified space on the form.
