Orissa School of Mining Engineering, Keonjhar is a Government Institution of National repute under Government of Orissa, Industries Department. The Institution was sated in the year 1956 to impart Diploma Education in Mining Engineering, being only one in the state as well as the Eastern Region. In the year 1986-88, the Institution diversified by adding Diploma education in Mechanical, Electrical & Drilling Engineering & subsequently in 1992, Metallurgical Engineering was introduced in this institution under World Bank assisted project. The Institution Celebrated Golden Jubilee in the year 2006.

Admission Rules And Procedure

JEE refers to the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the State of Orissa for admission to Engineering/ Technology in the academic year 2011 - 2012.

Admission is strictly based on JEE merit rank and choice of the candidate with respect to Institution and course given during the counselling.

The reservation policy of the Government of Orissa and the Government approved procedure given in the brochure for allocation of seats during counselling will be strictly followed.



Eligibility Criteria Orissa JEE 2011

1 - Engineering/Technology : Pass or appearing in 2011 in 10+2 examination of CHSE or equivalent, with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects : Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology. Should obtain at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) in the above subjects taken together in the qualifying examination.



2 - Architecture : Pass or appearing in 2011 in 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects Chemistry / Engineering Drawing / Computer Science / Biology. Should obtain at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) in the above subjects taken together in the qualifying examination. The aforesaid admission to B.Arch. degree course is subject to passing NATA conducted by the council of architecture and the minimum passing score for NATA is 80 out of 200 (i.e., 40%) for all categories of candidates. NATA shall be a prerequisite for admission into B.Arch course, but the ranking shall be on the basis of OJEE ranking and admission to the course is based on the OJEE rank.



Reservation of seats :



* For Orrisa students :- 85% seats reserved ( Based on Orrisa JEE 2011 score )

* For Other States :- 15% seats reserved ( Based on AIEEE 2011 score )



Age Limit



* Male candidates must have reached 20 years maximum

* Two years of relaxation in age is reserved for female candidates



Physical Fitness



* Height - 157 cm

* Weight-48 Kg (as per chart with height)

* Chest - 74 cm with 05cm expansion

* Eye Sight - 6/12 maximum

* Candidates must not have any major body ailment record/functional disorder of body organs

* For candidates seeking admission into Marine Engineering medical standard as per rule Merchant Ship Rule-2000 is applicable.
