National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra or NIT Kurukshetra (earlier Regional Engineering College, Kurukshetra) is a public technical university wholly funded by Government of India. In December 2008, it was accredited with the status of Institution of National Importance (INI). It is one of the twenty National Institutes of Technology established and administered by Government of India. It runs undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy programme in Engineering, Sciences and Humanities.

The institute has witnessed steady placements since its inception. Many reputed names from both the Public and Private sectors regularly visit the campus for recruitment. Every placement season encounters more than 100% placements with an average of 1/6th of the batch with more than one jobs.
