the problem is that every where, the cut off for pec is given in terms of AIRs, not in state ranks. so i really dont know if ill get admission.
also, say, i get mettalurgical in the third or fourth counselling in pec, and im already doing ece in manipal, shud i come back to chandigarh to do metallurgy? please help.

let me clarify-
admissions in UIET Chandigarh and Hoshiarpur are ONLY through the ALL INDIA RANKS. the STATE RANKS are useless for admission into UIET

Hi! I got AIR 26257 In AIEEE 2011, and my State Rank is 401 (general Category). from Chandigarh.
I have a few doubts.
1.Can I get ANY branch in Pec with this State Rank?
2. I Got through Manipal also. I got the second last remaning seat in ECE there, which is considered to be one of Manipal's best branches, alongwith their Mechanical. But manipal is believed to be a drug haven, althjough all my friends hacve said that these are baseless rumours.
3.I'll get Electrical in Thapar, according to last year's list. But my parents feel that chandigarh, being close to thapar, ill be home every weekebd, and that way, ill end up wasting weay too much time every weekend.
4. In UIET, Chandigarh, I'll get electrical, acc to last yrs list. Also, its supposedly a decent college, since its deegree is awarded by the Punjab University.

Now, I am really confused what to do. Ive even considered Dropping a year, since I couldnt really study before JEE since i got bogged down by the limited no of days after the boards. also, in the eee paper this year, i would like to inform, that i got 2 ques wrong in chem, 4 in mtahs, and abt 13 in phys. this is why im considering dropping also. also, i see all my registers which i made, and out in so much hard work, i feel guilty losing them right now.

My ultimate goal, right now, is to do masters, and not MBA. But it IS possible, that i might end up doing MBA if my mind goes that way.

Money is no consideration as far as the college fees is concerned. But i have already deposited abt 3 lakhs with manipal for the seat after the counselling, so i need to make up my mind soon, because they wont refund the nmoney after the 5th of july
