Sajidur Rahman replied to the topic Re:admission to NTU,Singapore in the forums.It came under top 10 coz its admission procedure selects the best brains of Asia. . and given its infrastructure, students naturally do good. . that's it. .!!

Sajidur Rahman replied to the topic Re:admission to NTU,Singapore in the forums.I applied this year and even called up the admission office. They said that for Indians they look up for X and XII marks and IIT rank. Private companies like SIO and NOL, which provide the scholarships need a CV, with all achievements. The university has nothing to do with these unless you opt for scholarship/financial assistant.
For students from countries out of Asia, they require SAT and other achievements.
So, I am sure. They make admission of Indian students SOLELY ON THE BASIS OF X, XII, IITJEE rank.
e.g.: Previous year a student got 94% in XII , he didn't get selected. But this another guy, who got 3300 in iitjee and 90% in boards got selected with scholarship from SIO.
@Barney Stinson Don't confuse the admission process of NTU and NUS with the process of US universities. .
@Abhi and @BArney. . did u guys apply dis year? -

Sajidur Rahman replied to the topic Re:Buoyancy in the forums.Well this is a very common misconception that one immersed object experiences buoyancy till it has fluid under it(water in this case).Even i had this misconcept. But it is not so. The block will experience buoyancy from the very moment when it is immersed in water. This concept is dealt well in HC Verma. There are some MCQs too in HCV on this concept. Hope that helps you well. Do post if you come to some new concept about it!
