CSE at SRM Modinagar , AMITY , ITM , IP ....plz could some1 tell me which wud be the best choice for me !! n also arrange them preference wise !!!! m in a real dillema ..plz h3lp me out ecians !!

heyy arpan !! i too have the same problem ..i ve got 5796 rank in SRMEEE and i wanted CSE or IT but its really tough getting these streams in the main campus..though u have slight chances of getting mechanical at that rank..all depends on ur luck..!!

i recently had a talk with one of the students of SRM main campus who graduated out this year..He earlier took CSE in modinagar but then shifted to main campus after first year..what he told me was that you can definitely change ur campus and stream but you have to score really very high in ur CGPA (more than 9) for gettnig CSE ..and also u can do so after first year only.. coz after that it 'll ve really very difficult and wont be possible....
also u need to have good contacts with faculty and hod's :) ..n only very few students get this opportunity bcoz it depends on how many seats are available after the end of first year..(if any1 changes campus or stream etc..)

But i'll also suggest you one thing arpan..you should not risk this thing..coz there are many more people like you and seats wud be very less.....you should go to second best campus of SRM i.e. Ramapuram and opt for ur desired stream there..I m also doing so !! ;)
the main idea behind this is that after 1st year if you dont get ur desired stream in the main campus, you can continue studying ur desired stream at that campus..
but if you join the main campus and took automobile or whichever stream is available and dnt get the opportunity to change ur stream then u ve 2 cont doin studies in that stream ..which is not advisable at all ..

after going through some research work i ve found that after the main campus of SRM, Ramapuram is the best and then modinagar....so plzzzz can any1 assure me if m right ..!!!!

bcoz acc to ec's rank prediction(my rank is 5796) m not getting CSE or IT in the main campus .. :(
so most probably i'll b going wid ramapuram as the second choice after the main campus ..!!


plzz others also tell me which "campus" are you preferring to goto if not getting the course of ur choice ....

Resuls for Allahabad, Delhi n Guwahati region will be declared on or after 21st may as the results for chennai, ajmer n panchkula regions are declared today i.e 19th may ....

i just wanted to know that i got 5796 rank in SRMEEE and according to ec's rank prediction i m getting CSE and IT in all the 3 campuses namely, ramapuram,vadapalani and modinagar except the main campus in kattankulathur..

so among these 3 campuses..which one should i prefer ?? which would be the best in all fields(placement,students,faculty) ??
plzz contact ur sources and give me an idea regarding this as soon as possible !! :) m really confused ..

i live in new delhi but i dont wanna goto modinagar coz its not good (placement and students wise) .

one is the main campus
and others are ramapuram,trichy and vadapalani....

so if i get the desired stream(CSE or IT) in the rest 3 campuses ...which 1 should i prefer ??

m not going for modinagar though i live in new delhi bcoz of some placement 'panga' and other probs' there ;)

even i was confused whether to go for CSE or IT ..
n m still confused after reading this thread coz basically i wanted to take CS after knowing about the effect of recession on IT, supply and demand thing and also the immense scope in it.. but as "REHAN" said CS is more into hardware stuff so i would like to prefer IT over comp sc.

so the confusion arises again whether to go for CS coz its demand is more or to go for IT because it covers more useful areas than CS ?????
