MHT CET 2017 – The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra had conducted MHT CET on May 11, 2017. The final merit list of MHT CET 2017 has been released on June 23 in online mode. The registration for MHT CET 2017 counselling commenced from June 05. It is mandatory for each and every qualified candidate to register for the Centralised Admission Process carried out by DTE, Maharashtra.The counselling is being held for only those candidates who qualified both the compulsory papers of MHT CET 2017 exam. The MHT CET result was declared by DTE Maharashtra on June 03. On the exam day, paper I (Mathematics) was held from 10:00 am to 11:30 pm and paper II (Physics & Chemistry) was conducted from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm. MHT CET was held in the offline mode across 46 districts in the state of Maharashtra. Candidates will be granted admission into various B.Tech courses offered by around 360 engineering institutes in the state of Maharashtra. What’s new in MHT CET 2017?
- 15% All India Quota Seats in Private Unaided Institutions will be changed from the Academic Year 2017-18. The merit list for All India Quota has been prepared on the basis of scores obtained by the students in Paper I of JEE Main 2017. In case, the seats under All India Quota remain vacant, such seats will be allotted to candidates as per the merit list prepared on the basis of MHT CET 2017 Score.

The candidates who have successfully applied for counselling of MHT CET 207 can check their final merit list prepared by DTE Maharashtra. The merit list of MHT CET 2017 is available only in online mode. Candidates have to log in with application number and date of birth to view the final merit status. The provisional merit list of MHT CET 2017 was released on June 19. DTE Maharashtra had provided provision to challenge the provisional merit status between June 20 to 21. During the given period candidate were able to submit deficient documents ( if any) for verification at Facilitation Centres.
The counselling of MHT CET is being done on the basis of the candidates’ performance in the entrance exam. DTE Maharashtra has invited the qualified candidates for the admission process. The online registration for MHT CET counselling was started from June 5 to 17. Along with applying for MHT CET counselling, candidates need to submit the necessary documents for verification. Only the candidates who successfully verify their documents and fulfil eligibility norms will be allotted seats into engineering courses at different engineering institutes in Maharashtra.
The Answer key of MHT CET 2017 was published on May 26, 2017. The Answer key was published online along with OMR Sheets. The answer key is issued to those candidates who have appeared in the examination. Candidates could crosscheck their answer with that of the provisional answer key and calculate their expected score.
The Result MHT CET 2017 was declared on June 03, 2017. It was announced online and candidates may check it through the login page in the link above. Result states the marks secured by the candidates. After the declaration of the result, a merit list will be prepared on the basis of which qualified candidates will be selected for admission to various courses of engineering. Candidates must download their result and keep it safe.
The Participating Institutes of MHT CET 2017 will individually release the cut off. The cutoff will be based on various factors like availability of seat, the difficulty level of examination, total no. of students etc. Only the candidates who meet the cutoff set by the institutes for different courses will be able to take admission.

The MHT CET Admit Card 2017 was issued on April 24, 2017. Candidates were able to download it online, until the exam day, i.e. May 11, 2017. The admit card of MHT CET was not being sent through post or any other medium. To download the admit card of MHT CET, candidates were required to enter the application number, password and security pin.
It was mandatory to carry MHT CET 2017 Hall Ticket on the exam day. It should be produced in good condition and as a hard copy. It will also be required during the counselling and the admission. Hence, candidates must secure it properly.
The Application Form of MHT CET 2017 was made available online. The entire procedure was carried out in the online mode. Aspirants had to enter their personal, academic, communication details etc. in the form. They were also required uploading scanned images of their recent passport sized photograph (5 KB to 50 KB) and signature (5 KB to 20 KB). After completing the filling up of the form, they also had to pay the application fee amount.
The amount of fee for General category candidates, J&K Migrants, and Outside Maharashtra State candidates is Rs. 800. However, candidates belonging to reserved category, including the PWD, just need to remit Rs. 600. The medium to submit the fee are:
- Credit Card/ Debit Card (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro)
- Internet Banking
- Cash Cards/Mobile Wallets
Note: The application form had to be submitted by remitting the late fee of Rs. 500, over the actual fee amount, from March 24 to 30, 2017.
Only the candidates who fulfil the criteria will be allotted seats. Candidates are advised to go through the eligibility criteria of MHT CET 2017 given in the table below:
The candidates must have passed Class XII or its equivalent examination with mathematics and physics as the main subjects along with Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Vocational subjects as an option subject.
Candidates must secure at least 50% aggregate marks in the subjects taken together.
Candidates must qualify diploma in engineering & technology or B.SC. Degree from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
A certain number of seats is reserved for candidates of specific categories belonging to the state of Maharashtra. The reservation for the Backward Class is given below:
