Nationality
The applicant for admission should be a Resident / Non Resident Indian National. Foreign students need not write VTUEEE 2012 .
Age
Candidates who have not completed 25 years of age as on 1st July of the year in which admission is sought are eligible. However, in the case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Physically Challenged (PC) candidates, upper age limit shall be relaxed by 5 years. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate only will be taken as authentic
A relaxation up to six months may be granted by the management in specific cases.
Qualifying Examination 2012
Candidates appearing for the VTUEEE 2012 should have either completed or shall be appearing in, any one of the following qualifying examinations:
The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by any State Board; Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi); The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE, New Delhi) (or)
Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University (or)
High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or equivalent and
Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full time and Formal Academic or Vocational Education stream alone are eligible to apply.
Eligibility Criteria in the qualifying examination:
A pass in +2 (or its equivalent).
Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura have to produce CERTIFICATES TO PROVE NATIVITY.
These documents should be produced at the time of counselling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.
Those appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination in April/May may also appear in VTUEEE for consideration of provisional admission.
In case the marks statement is not produced by the candidates at the time of admission, the decision of the Management regarding his/her eligibility and admission to the programme shall be final.
For purposes of consideration for award of the Vel tech Mahatma Gandhi National Merit Scholarships, the state from which the candidate has studied and appeared for the Qualifying examination (12th standard Examination of the state or central board)
Will be taken as the state to which the candidate belongs to, for ranking, even though the nativity of the candidate may be another state or Union territory.
Subject Combinations Required
Subject combinations required in the qualifying examination for admission to B.Tech. Shall be as prescribed by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), i.e. the candidate must have passed the 10+2 or its equivalent with Physics & Chemistry with Mathematics as compulsory papers for admission to any branch of B.Tech Degree programmes
VTUEEE 2012 Application Procedure
Direct by post or in person: - Application Form together with Prospectus and Information Brochure can be obtained by post or in person from the Admissions Officer, VTUEEE , at the University Office by presenting a Demand Draft for `750/- only drawn in favour of Vel Tech Dr.RR & Dr.SR Technical University payable at Chennai.
Downloadable Online Application Forms: - The Application Form may be downloaded from website www.veltechuniv.edu.in The filled up form is to be sent by Registered/Speed Post/Air Mail along with a payment by Demand Draft drawn in favour of Vel Tech Dr.RR & Dr.SR Technical University for `750/- only in case of Indian candidates from India and US$ 40 only in case of others.
Online application: - The candidates may also apply online for which detailed instructions have been provided at every stage of filling the application to help smooth navigation. Candidates submitting downloaded applications and those applying online are required to retain a photocopy of the filled in form, and copy of mode of remittance of Application-cum-Examination Fees.
The candidates who have made applications online must submit Computer Generated Application Form along with Demand Draft of any scheduled Bank/Challan/Proof of remittance of Application-cum-Examination Fees or Transaction ID in case of remittance by Net banking.
Request for change/correction in any particular/s in the Application Form will not be entertained under any circumstances. The University shall not be responsible for any consequences arising out of non-acceptance of any correction/addition/deletion in any particular once filled in the application form for whatsoever reasons. Candidates are advised to be careful while filling up and to again verifies the particulars after filing up and before dispatch.
Incomplete Application Forms, or the forms having overwriting, shall be liable to be rejected.
