CUSAT CAT 2011 Eligiblity Criteria
Educational Qualification: Pass in Plus Two Examination of the State of Kerala with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto securing a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together.
Notes:** Pass in Plus Two examination of the State of Kerala with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto securing a minimum of 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
put together, with at least 55% in Mathematics separately.
***Pass in Plus Two or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60% marks & minimum 50% for Mathematics and should have obtained 50% marks in English at 10th or 12th standards. This is applicable to the SC/ST candidates also.Some points for Marine Engg. criteria
- Vocational/Diploma students are not eligible to apply.
- The Maximum age limit prescribed is 25 years as on 1st September of the year of admission.
- Eligibility for admission will be based on directions from the DG Shipping (Govt. of India)
Test Pattern for CUSAT CAT 2011
The Test comprises two papers:
a.) Mathematics (Test Code 101)
b.) Physics and Chemistry (Test Code 101)
- Each of these papers consists of 125 objective type questions.
- Physics and Chemistry (plus two level) paper maintains a ratio of 3:2.
- All candidates applying for any of the following first degree programmes in Engineering & Technology have to necessarily
take both the papers of the Test Code 101.
Marks and Scoring
- The CAT score will be calculated as per the formula, S = 3R - 1W, where S is the CAT score, R is the number of right answers and W is the number of wrong answers.
- Negative marks will be given for each wrong answer. In case of a tie, the existing Universtiy norms will be followed.

Application Procedure for CUSAT CAT 2011
- The Chalan form (in triplicate) downloaded from the website www.cusat.nic.in after online registration can be used to remit the application fee at the bank.
- The fee can be remitted at any branch of State Bank of India OR State bank of Travancore.
- The student’s copy as well as the University copy of the chalan form with the journal no written on it will be returned to the candidate by the bank as proof of remittance.
- The University copy of the fee paid chalan should be attached along with the duly filled confirmation page.
- Other mode of payments such as Demand Drafts, cheques, money order etc will not be accepted.
For Offline applications
The required fee should be paid by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, CUSAT payable at Ernakulam.
For International Candidates
The required fee should be paid by way of Demand Draft / Pay order/Any other instrument (which does not involve collection charges on the part of the University) favouring Registrar, CUSAT.
