JoSAA 2017 CounsellingJoSAA 2017 Counselling- Joint Seat Allocation Authority 2017 is the conducting body of counselling of JoSAA 2017. The counselling of JoSAA 2017 is held in seven rounds. The result of JoSAA counselling round 7 has been released online on July 21. A total of 461 seats is left vacant after the round 7 of JoSAA counselling 2017. The round 6 of JoSAA counselling was announced on July 18. Around 5915 seats were left vacant after round 6. Round 5 result of JoSAA seat allotment was declared on July 16, 2017Round 4 JoSAA 2017 counselling was conducted on July 13. Round 3 of JoSAA counselling 2017 declared on July 10. The vacant seats for round 3 were released on July 07. The result of round 2 JoSAA seat allotment 2017 was announced on July 04 whereas the result of round 1 seat allotment was declared on June 28 in online mode. The online registration for counselling of JoSAA 2017 was started from June 15 to 27. All the candidates who qualified JEE Main 2017 and JEE Advanced 2017 were able to apply for JoSAA 2017 counselling. Candidates have to verify their documents as per the given schedule for allotment of seats. Seat Allotment is done on the basis of All India Rank and academic programme selected by the candidate in order of preference. To accept allotted seats, candidates must pay seat acceptance fee and report at the respective reporting centre for document verification as per the given schedule. JoSAA 2017 Counselling Procedure

The JoSAA Counselling 2017 will be conducted for admission into 31 NITs, 23 IITs, 23 IIITs and 20 GFTIs. We have provided the step by step JoSAA Counselling process:

Step 1: Registration

To appear in the counselling of JoSAA 2017 candidates were required to fill the online JoSAA registration 2017 form. The registration process had started on June 15. All the candidates should have entered JEE Main 2017/JEE Advanced 2017 Roll Number and Password for registering. The basic personal details of the candidates were automatically retrieved from the JEE Main 2017 application form.

Step 2: Filling Choices

After clicking on the login page, candidates have to select their desired course and colleges. The candidates are not required to pay any fees during the filing of the choices. Applicants must fill their choices within the prescribed date. Candidates must not forget to lock their filled choices before submitting. If in case any candidate forgets to lock their choices then last saved choice will automatically be locked. The list of confirmed choices must be printed out for future use.

Step 3: Seat Allotment and declaration of Rank List

The first round of seat allotment result was announced on June 28. After filling up the choices, the mock seat allotment was conducted in two days. After mock seat allotment. The candidates are allotted seats as per the merit and choices filled by the candidates. JoSAA opening and closing rank for round 1 were published in online mode.

Step 4: Provisional Offer of Seats & Confirmation

Candidates can check the seat allotment of JoSAA 2017. Once the candidate had been allotted a seat, applicants need to download the provisional JoSAA Seat Allotment letter and pay the seat acceptance fee.

Step 5: Reporting Centres

  • Applicants need to appear at the JoSAA 2017 reporting centre for document verification process. Candidates have to report at the centre at the given date & time.

  • List of documents to be verified at the reporting centre will be published through the website. Applicants must bring the necessary original particulars along with the xerox copies.

  • If in any case candidates fails to produce their particulars, the allotted seat will be cancelled.

  • In case candidates have selected the float option and they have been provided a better seat in the counselling rounds then such candidates have to again seat for document verification and seat acceptance.

Documents required at the JoSAA 2017 Reporting Centres

For IITs and ISM – Below are the list of the document to be brought by the candidates for admission through JEE Advanced 2017:

  • Two Passport size photographs
  • Provisional JoSAA 2017 Seat Allotment Letter
  • Candidate Undertaking
  • Proof of Seat Acceptance fee payment by e-challan or SBI Net banking
  • Photo Identity Card (valid)
  • Original JEE Advanced Admit Card 2017
  • Date of Birth Proof (10th Standard Mark Sheet)
  • Class 12th (or equivalent) Mark Sheet and Pass Certificate
  • Medical Certificate
  • Category Certificate (if applicable)
  • Certificate for PwD (if applicable)
  • Passport (for foreign nationals) or OCI Certificate or PIO Card (if applicable)
  • DS Certificate (if applicable)
  • Registration cum Locked Choices for Seat Allotment

For NITs, IIITs, IIESTs, GFTIs – Below are the list of the document to be brought by the candidates for admission through JEE Main 2017:

  • Three passport size photographs similar to one uploaded in JEE Main 2017 application form
  • Provisional JoSAA 2017 Seat Allotment Letter
  • Candidate Undertaking
  • Proof of Seat Acceptance Fee Payment by e-challan or Internet Banking through SBI
  • Valid photo Identity Card
  • JEE Main 2017 Admit Card
  • JEE Main 2017 Score Card
  • Class 10th Standard Mark Sheet or Date of Birth Proof
  • Class 12 (or equivalent) Mark Sheet and Pass Certificate
  • Medical Certificate
  • Category Certificate (if applicable)

  • Registration and Filled Choices for Seat Allotment

Acceptance of Fees

The fee for seat acceptance will be Rs. 20,000 for SC, ST, Gen PWD, SC-PWD, ST-PWD and OBC-NCL PWD categories and for all other categories Rs. 45,000.

Fee payment can be made using SBI/Net banking or e-challan. The seats of the candidates will be allotted only after verification of documents. Candidates who reject the allotted seats are not eligible for further rounds. Seat acceptance fee will be refunded to those candidates who will not appear in the JoSAA 2017 Counselling.

Step 5: Reporting at the admitted Institution

After candidates have completed the seat allocation process of JoSAA, seat acceptance and document verification process, candidates are required to report to the allotted JoSAA 2017 participating Institutes. After reporting to the institutes candidates have to complete further admission formalities to confirm admission of JoSAA and begin the academic session in the particular institute.

Other Processes of JoSAA 2017 Counselling

Freeze, Float and Slide Options

Freeze: Candidates who accept the allotted seats and confirm that they do not want to participate in further JoSAA 2017 Counselling rounds.

Float: Applicants who have accepted the JoSAA allotted seats and also looking for admission to a better preference. Such candidates will be considered for further JOSAA counselling 2017 rounds.

Slide: Candidates who have accepted the allotted seats and also seeking for admission to an academic programme within the institution or university such candidates will also considered for further admission process.

Note: Candidates can make changes from float to slide or float to slide by reporting at the centre. Changes cannot be made in the last round of JoSAA 2017 Seat Allotment. Slide and float option will be given only for those aspirants who have not offered admission to their desired preferences.

Document verification after changing the options (Float/Slide)

When a candidate chooses the float option, and the candidate is allocated a seat in an IIT/ISM in one round and in an NIT/IIEST/IIITs or other GFTIs in a next round, then the candidates had to report once again for document verification and seat acceptance at a reporting centre of NITs or vice versa.

Dual Reporting and document verification

When a candidate chooses float option, if the candidate is allocated a seat in an IIT in one round and in an NIT / IIEST/IIIT or other-GFTI in a subsequent round, then the candidate has to report once again for document verification and seat acceptance at a reporting centre of NITs. Similarly, if a candidate is allocated a seat in an NIT /IIEST/IIIT or other GFTI in one round and in an IIT in a subsequent round, then the candidate has to report once again for document verification and seat acceptance at a reporting centre of IITs. The same process applies to the candidates who applied to the NITs.
