JoSAA 2017 CounsellingJoSAA 2017 Counselling – Joint Seat Allocation Authority 2017 has started the online registration for counselling of JoSAA 2017 from June 15. All the candidates who have qualified JEE Main 2017 and JEE Advanced 2017 can apply for JoSAA 2017 counselling. The counselling of JoSAA 2017 is being done in seven rounds. After the completion of registration, process candidates have to fill and lock their choices. JoSAA has provided 2 rounds of mock seat allotment for the candidates to lock in their best-preferred course and colleges. The second round of seat allotment result has been announced on June 23 whereas first round was released on June 22. The last date of JoSAA 2017 registration along with choice filling is June 26. After successful registration and choice filling, the first round of JoSAA 2017 seat allotment will commence from June 28 and the seventh round of seat allotment ends on July 19. All the candidates must verify their documents as per the give schedule for allotment of seats. Seat Allotment will be done on the basis All India Rank. Rank list for admission through JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2017 will be prepared and released by the authorities. Seats will be allotted in online mode as per the merit and academic programme selected by the candidate in order of preference. To accept allotted seats, candidates must pay seat acceptance fee and report at the respective reporting centre for document verification. All the candidates must physically report to the allotted institutes. After completion of JoSAA counselling 2017 process, candidates will be granted admission in 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 20 GFTIs according to the availability of seats in the particular institute and preferences of courses and colleges. JoSAA 2017 Counselling Procedure

The JoSAA Counselling 2017 will be conducted for admission into 31 NITs, 23 IITs, 23 IIITs and 20 GFTIs. We have provided the step by step JoSAA Counselling process:

Step 1: Registration

To appear in the counselling of JoSAA 2017 candidates have to fill the online JoSAA registration 2017 form. The regisitration process has started on June 15. All the candidates have to login in the JoSAA 2017 portal with their JEE Main 2017/JEE Advanced 2017 Roll Number and Password. The basic personal details of the candidates will be automatically retrieved from the JEE Main 2017 application form.

Step 2: Filling Choices

After clicking on login page, candidates have to select their desired course and colleges. The candidates are not required to pay any fees during the filing of the choices. Applicants must fill their choices within the prescribe date. Candidates must not forget to lock their filled choices before submitting. If in case any candidate forgets to lock their choices then last saved choice will automatically locked. The list of confirmed choices must be printed out for future use.

Step 3: Seat Allotment and declaration of Rank List

After filling up the choices, the mock seat allotment will be conducted in two days. After mock seat allotment, the first round of seat allotment will be held on June 28. The candidates will be allotted seats as per the merit and choices filled by the candidates. The authorities of JoSAA 2017 will release the rank list category wise. Only those candidates who manage to secure the minimum percentage required will be named in the rank list. JoSAA Rank List 2017 will be published in online mode.

Step 4: Provisional Offer of Seats & Confirmation

Candidates can check the seats allotment of JoSAA 2017. Once the candidate has been allotted a seat, applicants need to download the provisional JoSAA Seat Allotment letter and pay the seat acceptance fee.

Step 5: Reporting Centres

  • Applicants need to appear at the JoSAA 2017 reporting centre for document verification process. Candidates have to report at the centre at the given date & time.

  • List of documents to be verified at the reporting centre will be published through the website. Applicants must bring the necessary original particulars along with the xerox copies.

  • If in any case candidates fails to produce their particulars, the allotted seat will be cancelled.

  • In case candidates have selected the float option and they have been provided a better seat in the counselling rounds then such candidates have to again seat for document verification and seat acceptance.

Documents required at the JoSAA 2017 Reporting Centres

For IITs and ISM – Below are the list of the document to be brought by the candidates for admission through JEE Advanced 2017:

  • Two Passport size photographs
  • Provisional JoSAA 2017 Seat Allotment Letter
  • Candidate Undertaking
  • Proof of Seat Acceptance fee payment by e-challan or SBI Net banking
  • Photo Identity Card (valid)
  • Original JEE Advanced Admit Card 2017
  • Date of Birth Proof (10th Standard Mark Sheet)
  • Class 12th (or equivalent) Mark Sheet and Pass Certificate
  • Medical Certificate
  • Category Certificate (if applicable)
  • Certificate for PwD (if applicable)
  • Passport (for foreign nationals) or OCI Certificate or PIO Card (if applicable)

Acceptance of Fees

The fee for seat acceptance will be Rs. 20,000 for SC, ST, Gen PWD, SC PWD, ST PWD and OBC-NCL PWD categories and for all other categories Rs. 45,000.

Fee payment can be made using SBI/Net banking or e-challan. The seats of the candidates will be allotted only after verification of documents. Candidates who reject the allotted seats are not eligible for further rounds. Seat acceptance fee will be refunded to those candidates who will not appear in the JoSAA 2017 Counselling.

Step 5: Reporting at the admitted Institution

After candidates have completed the seat allocation process of JoSAA, seat acceptance and document verification process, candidates are required to report to the allotted JoSAA 2017 participating Institutes. After reporting to the institutes candidates have to complete further admission formalities to confirm admission of JoSAA and begin the academic session in the particular institute.

Other Processes of JoSAA 2017 Counselling

Freeze, Float and Slide Options

Freeze: Candidates who accept the allotted seats and confirm that they do not want to participate in further JoSAA 2017 Counselling rounds.

Float: Applicants who have accepted the JoSAA allotted seats and also looking for admission to a better preference. Such candidates will be considered for further JOSAA counselling 2017 rounds.

Slide: Candidates who have accepted the allotted seats and also seeking for admission to an academic programme within the institution or university such candidates will also considered for further admission process.

Note: Candidates can make changes from float to slide or float to slide by reporting at the centre. Changes cannot be made in the last round of JoSAA 2017 Seat Allotment. Slide and float option will be given only for those aspirants who have not offered admission to their desired preferences.

Document verification after changing the options (Float/Slide)

When a candidate chooses the float option, and the candidate is allocated a seat in an IIT/ISM in one round and in an NIT/IIEST/IIITs or other GFTIs in a next round, then the candidates had to report once again for document verification and seat acceptance at a reporting centre of NITs or vice versa.

Dual Reporting and document verification

When a candidate chooses float option, if the candidate is allocated a seat in an IIT in one round and in an NIT / IIEST/IIIT or other-GFTI in a subsequent round, then the candidate has to report once again for document verification and seat acceptance at a reporting centre of NITs. Similarly, if a candidate is allocated a seat in an NIT /IIEST/IIIT or other GFTI in one round and in an IIT in a subsequent round, then the candidate has to report once again for document verification and seat acceptance at a reporting centre of IITs. The same process applies to the candidates who applied to the NITs.
