JEE Main Latest Updates 2017: The most awaited engineering entrance exam, JEE Main 2017 (Paper I & II) was held across 113 national and international cities. Around 12 lakhs candidates have applied for the exam to get admission into the 92 prominent engineering institutes of the nation. These 92 Institutes will be offering a total of 24,323 seats in the 31 NITs, 20 IITs and 18 GFTIs, while the remaining 23 IITs will offer 11,000 seats. The JEE Main Paper I commenced today i.e. on April 02, 2017 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm & Paper II from 2:00 pm to 5 pm. April 02, 2017 (2:00 pm) – JEE Main Paper 2 starts

The JEE Main Paper II (B.Arch) starts from 2:00 pm. The gate of the exam venue is closed and the paper will conclude at 5:00 pm.

April 02, 2017 (12:30 am) – JEE Main 2017 Paper 1 concludes

The JEE Main 2017 Paper I (B.Tech) has been concluded. There were 4 paper codes, which were Code A, B, C, and D. According to many students, the Chemistry section was the easiest among the others in Code B and C. Till now there are no reports of any glitches in JEE Main 2017 Paper I. April 02, 2017 (9:30 am) – JEE Main 2017 Starts

The most awaited engineering entrance exam commences. All the students have settled down in the exam hall and the gates of the exam venues are closed. The duration of the test is 3 hours i.e. it will conclude on 12:30 pm.

March 14, 2017- JEE Main 2017 Admit Card Available

CBSE has released the admit card of JEE Main 2017. To download the admit card candidates have to enter their application number, date of birth and security pin. The JEE Main 2017 admit card is available only in online mode. The admit card of JEE Main 2017 contains the name and address of the exam centre along with the candidate’s name, father’s name,roll number, date of birth, category, photograph, signature etc.

January 25, 2017 – JEE Main 2017 Application Form Correction Window Functional Now

CBSE has made functional the application correction portal for JEE Main 2017. The applicants may access the correction window to rectify errors in the application form. To access the window, candidates will have to login by submitting the Application Number and Password. The last date to make corrections is February 03, 2017, however, the requisite amount of fee can be paid until February 04, 2017.

January 24, 2017 – JEE Main 2017 Acknowledgement Page Available

The portal to download the acknowledgement page became active on January 24, 2017. After downloading the acknowledgement page, the candidates can check the details and make corrections from the correction portal.

January 18, 2017 – Deadline to Submit Application Fee Extended by a Day

Earlier, the last date to submit the application fee was January 17, 2016. However, it was been extended by one day. Candidates can now remit the fee amount until January 18, 2017. If the candidates will not submit the JEE Main Application Fee, their application will be rejected.

January 09, 2017 – Correction Facility to be Provided from January 25 Announced

CBSE has announced that the candidates will be able to make corrections in the application form from January 25, 2017. The candidates will be able to correct all the details but change the mode of exam from CBT to P&P. The extra amount of fee for the changes can be submitted through e-challan or online payment gateway.

December 30, 2016 – Deadline to Submit JEE Main Application Form Extended

As per the information brochure, the last date to submit the application form of JEE Main was January 02, 2017. However, on the request of school and students, the deadline to fill and submit the form has been extended until January 16, 2017. The candidates may now submit the application fee until January 17, 2017. 

December 10, 2016 – Portal for Rectification of Images Became Live

Recently, the Board has made functional the JEE Main 2017 Images Correction Portal. The candidates who have filled the application form can access the portal to check whether their application form has been submitted or not.

December 09, 2016 – CBSE to Use Digi-Scoring Technique

It has been announced that this year Digi-Scoring OMR sheets will be used. It will capture the data in tamper proof format and will allow the Board to save cost and time. The Digi-Scoring technique is expected to bring more transparency into functionality and give out more accurate results.

Various reports also claim that this year the Board will use Aadhaar Linked Biometric system. However, CBSE has not made any official announcement regarding this.

December 01, 2016 – Availability of Application Form and Information Brochure

CBSE released the Application Form of JEE Main 2017, on December 01, 2017. The forms are only available online, until January 02, 2017. The candidates may submit the application fee till January 03, 2017. Apart from this, complete information about JEE Main was released via the brochure. November 27, 2016 – List of Facilitation Centres Revealed

CBSE has collaborated with UIDAI to establish various facilitation centres for JEE Main 2017. The candidates can approach any of the centres and seek solutions for their queries regarding Aadhaar Card. From the centres, the candidates may also apply for the document.

November 19, 2016 – CBSE Issues the Clarification

The requirement of Aadhaar Card as a mandatory document, for filling JEE Main 2017 Application Form, created havoc among the aspirants. The most perplexed were those JEE aspirants who belonged to the state of Assam, Meghalaya and Jammu & Kashmir because the Government has not issued Aadhaar Card for these states yet.


To ease the issue, the Board issued a 
clarification notice regarding Aadhaar Card in JEE Main. Through it, the Board made clear that the candidates of these three states may apply via Bank Account Number, Ration Card Number, Voter ID Number, or any other Govt, approved ID proof. The international candidates may use the Passport number to apply.

November 19, 2016 – Website Becomes Functional and Dates for CBT Announced

The official website of JEE Main 2017 came live today, on November 19, 2016. With it, the Board announced that the Computer Based Test of the examination will be held on April 08 and 09, 2017.

November 18, 2016 – Notice Indicating Important Dates and Aadhaar Requirement Released

The very first notice regarding JEE Main 2017 was released on November 18. Through it, CBSE did not only announced that the P&P exam will be held on April 02, 2017 but also declared that Aadhaar Card is a mandatory requirement of applying. The notice clearly indicated that the data in the Aadhaar Card and School Record should match else, the candidature will be harmed. Apart from this, it was also announced that the application form for JEE Main 2017 will be available from December 01, 2016.
