Queries Regarding JEE Main 2017 Eligibility Criteria
Q.What is the age limit to be eligible for JEE Main 2017?
A. Candidates born on or after October 1,1992, are eligible to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination. For SC/ST and PwD candidates, there is a relaxation of 5 years i.e. they must be born on or after October 01, 2017.
Q. What is the maximum number of attempts for JEE Main 2017?
A. Candidates can avail a maximum number of 3 attempts for JEE Main 2017.
Q. As per the JEE Main Eligibility Criteria, am I eligible for admission to B.Arch. Course in IITs if I appear in paper 2 of JEE Main 2017?
A. No, candidates appearing in Paper 2 are eligible for admission to B.Arch. Course only in NITs/SPAs other CFTIs (where B.Arch. Course is available). IIT’s have a separate procedure for admission to B.Arch courses.
Q. What is the Eligibility for Diploma Students in JEE Main 2017?
A. To appear in JEE Advanced 2017, diploma holders can apply in JEE Main 2017. However, the rank and score for JEE Main will not be declared as diploma holders cannot apply for admission in NITs and CFTIs through JEE Main.
Q. What are HSC vocational courses?
A. The HSC vocational courses vary from one state to another. Candidates of different state will require verifying it from their respective state.
Clarification Regarding Applying with the Aadhaar Card
Q. I have recently submitted the request for updating the Aadhar details (including biometric update) but unable to apply for JEE Main 2017 with the updated Aadhaar Card detail. What should I do?
A. Candidates have to apply for JEE Main by entering 14 digits Aadhaar Enrolment ID/UR No. (Including slash) printed on the slip issued by aadhaar centre after submitting updation request.
Q. How can I apply for JEE Main 2017 if my biometric is not updated in the Aadhaar Card
A. Candidates have to submit a correction request at the Aadhaar centre for biometric update and apply for JEE Main by entering 14 digits Aadhaar Enrolment ID/UR No. (including slash) printed on the slip issued by the Aadhaar centre after submitting updating request.
Q.The date of birth is not fully mentioned in the admit card. What should I do?
A. Candidates have to submit a correction request at the Aadhaar centre and apply for JEE Main 2017 by entering 14 digits Aadhaar Enrolment ID/UR No. (Including slash) printed on the slip issued by the Aadhaar centre after submitting the request for updating the details.

Queries regarding JEE Main 2017 Application Form
Q. Will I have a choice to change the mode of examination once the correction window for application form is activated?
A. Yes, but a candidate can change the mode of examination from pen and paper based examination to computer based examination only.
Q. What should I do if I have applied for both paper I and II but do not want to appear in Paper I or Paper II?
A. It is not compulsory for candidates to appear in both the papers. They can appear in the paper of their choice. However, there is no refund of fee.
Q. What are the name of the Boards recognized under the Association of Indian Universities
A. In order to avail the name of the Boards recognized under the association of Indian Universities, candidates may visit www.aiuweb.org
Q. What are the particulars that I can change when the correction window will be activated by the Board in the month of January?
A. Candidates can correct the following particulars only if they have paid the fee and completed all the steps of online application form:
- City of examination
- Paper 2 to Paper I or Vice Versa
- Select both Papers I and II
- Change of examination mode from pen and paper based to computer based only.
The balance fee, if any due to correction in particulars, have to be paid by the candidates during that period.

Queries regarding JEE Main 2017 Admit Card
Q. I forgot to enter my 12th roll number, so will I be able to download the JEE Main Admit Card?
A. In case, if a candidate forgot to enter 12th roll number or equivalent qualifying examination certificate/admit card issued by the board, then he/she will not be allowed to download the hall ticket of JEE Main 2017.
The candidates belonging to Bihar and Jharkhand must enter their roll code with the roll number without space. Candidates from Jammu and Kashmir should enter old preference number along with the 12th roll number without space.
Q. I have submitted two application forms by mistake, will I be issued the Admit Card of JEE Main 2017?
A. At the time of issuing admit card, both the application form of the candidates will be merged and only one admit card will be issued.
However, candidates must send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org mentioning both the application numbers and specifying clearly the application number which they want to be considered.
Q. I forgot to book the date for online examination after paying the fees. How will I know about the date and session of the examination?
A. In case, a candidate does not make any selection, he/she will be assigned a slot/date randomly as per the availability of the same in the examination city selected by them. The session and slot will be mentioned on their respective admit card.
Queries Regarding JEE Main 2017 Exam Centre
Q. I have passed my Class XII examination from Jammu and Kashmir. Can I choose the JEE Main 2017 Exam Centre from across the country?
A. Candidates who have passed their Class XII examination or appearing it from the states of J&K, Assam and Meghalaya have to select the city of examination in these states only.
Q. I have passed my class XII examination from Assam but I have Aadhaar Card. Can I choose Examination Centre across India?
A. Candidates who have passed or appearing in class XII examination from the states of J&K, Assam and Meghalaya and have the Aadhaar Card can choose the Examination Centre across India.
