JEE Main 2017 All India RankJEE Main 2017 All India RankThe All India Rank (AIR) of JEE Main 2017 is scheduled to be announced on April 27 by the JEE Apex Body (JAB). The JEE Main 2017 AIR will be declared for all candidates who have appeared in Joint Entrance Examination. The JEE Main AIR shall comprise the actual marks obtained in JEE Main 2017 Paper I along with the status for appearing in JEE Advanced 2017. The AIR of JEE 2017 Main will show the candidate’s All India rank and All India category wise rank. To check and download JEE Main 2017 All India Rank candidates have to enter their roll number and date of birth. Only the All India Rank (AIR) will be used for admissions to NITs/IIITs/CFTIs/SFIs/Others through central counselling – JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). Also, the top 22000 candidates of JEE Main 2017 All India Rank holders will be allowed to appear for JEE Advanced 2017 scheduled to be held on May 21, 2017, for admission to nearly 11000 B.Tech seats offered by the 23 IITs. When will JAB announce JEE Main 2017 All India Rank?

The JEE Main 2017 AIR will be announced on April 27. While the JEE Main AIR for B. Arch/B. Planning will be announced on May 27, 2017. The dates pertaining to announcement of JEE Main 2017 All India Rank is given below.

Highlights of JEE Main 2017 All India Rank

  • JEE Main 2017 All India Rank will be the basis for admission to B.E. / B.Tech and B.Arch. / B. Planning offered at National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur (IIEST), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs or Triple-I-Ts) and a few other technical Institutes funded fully or partially by Central or a State government (Other-GFTIs)
  • The examination authority will prepare separate JEE Main 2017 All India Rank for B.E. / B.Tech and B.Arch. / B. Planning programmes
  • JEE Main 2017 All India Rank for B.E. / B.Tech will be released on April 27 while JEE Main rank list of B.Arch. / B. Planning will be announced on May 27
  • There shall be no weightage for the class 12 marks in calculating the All India rank in the JEE Main 2017
  • For the candidates to qualify for admission in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs whose admissions are based on the JEE (Advanced)/JEE(Main) ranks, they should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the class 12 examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST students the qualifying marks would be 65% in the class 12 examination
  • Subject combinations required in the qualifying examination for admission to B.E./B.Tech. & B. Arch./B. Planning Courses in NITs, IIITs, and other CFTIs shall be as under.

  • The examination authority will issue a total of 8 rank list of JEE Main as per the candidate’s category. The rank list will be based on the following category

JEE Main 2017 All India Rank – Tie Breaking Method

In case, two or more candidates obtain equal marks in JEE Main 2017, the following rules will be applied by the JEE Apex Board to decide the AIR of JEE Main 2017

JEE Main 2017 All India Rank for admission to B.E/B.Tech

In the institutions other than IITs, the following mechanism will be adopted to break the tie in the rank of the candidates who have appeared in JEE Main 2017

  • Candidates securing higher marks in Mathematics will be given better rank
  • If this does not break the tie, candidates obtaining higher marks in Physics will be given better rank
  • If the tie still persists, the ratio of positive and negative marks obtained by the candidates in JEE Main will be taken into account. Thus, candidates having higher absolute value of the ratio will be given higher rank
  • If the tie breaking rules mentioned above does not work, candidates will be given the same rank

JEE Main 2017 All India Rank for admission to B.Arch./B.Planning

For candidates who have appeared in Paper II of JEE Main (B.Arch/B.Planning), the following rules will be taken into consideration to break the tie:

  • Candidates obtaining better marks in the Aptitude Test will be given higher rank
  • If this does not break the tie, candidates obtaining higher marks in the drawing test will be given better rank
  • If the tie still exists, the ratio of positive and negative marks obtained by the candidates in JEE Main 2017 will be taken into consideration. Candidates having higher absolute value of ratio will be given better rank
  • Candidates will be given the same rank if the tie does not break after applying the criteria mentioned above

JEE Main All India Rank: The all India rank of JEE Main will display candidate’s detail like their roll number, date of birth, Father’s and Mother’s name, category, state code of eligibility, and total marks and marks scored in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects. The JEE Main All Rank card will also show candidates whether they are eligible for appearing in JEE Advanced or not. The All India Rank card of JEE main will looks like the image given below.

JEE Main 2017 Cutoff

Candidates appearing in JEE Main 2017 have to obtain the cutoff determined by JAB to qualify the entrance examination. The cutoff of JEE Main 2017 will be used for the preparation of all India rank of JEE Main. The cutoff is also the basis for filtering candidates for JEE Advanced 2017 for admission into the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The cutoff will be displayed on the score card of JEE Main 2017. Meanwhile, candidates can check the cutoff trend of the past three years below in the table:

JEE Main 2017 Counselling

After the declaration of the JEE Main 2017 All India Rank, JoSAA will conduct the counselling of JEE Main. The counselling will be held in 6 rounds.           CBSE has send the state rank to JOSAA, you can either check it by accessing the CBSE’s website. However, we suggest you to take part in counselling on the basis of your AIR rank.
