JEE Advanced 2017JEE Advanced 2017 – The Joint Seat allocation Authority (JoSAA) has stated the registration and choice filling for JEE Advanced counselling 2017 on June 15. Candidates can apply and fill in their choices for the counselling of JEE Advanced 2017 until June 26, 2017. JEE Advanced counselling to be held online in seven rounds. Only those candidates who secured a rank in JEE Advanced are eligible to apply for the counselling and further admission process. The result of JEE Advanced 2017 was declared online on June 11 (10:00 am) for candidates who appeared in both the paper 1 and paper 2 of JEE Advanced 2017. The official answer key of JEE Advanced 2017 was available on June 04. The ORS of JEE Advanced was released on May 30, 2017, for all the candidates who have appeared in both paper 1 and paper 2. The JEE Advanced admit card 2017 was issued from May 10 to all the candidates who successfully registered for JEE Advanced 2017. This year, 1,59,540 JEE Main qualifiers appeared in JEE Advanced out of which 50455 candidates qualified for admission into the 23 IITs which will fill approximately 11,000 B.Tech seats. JEE Advanced 2017 Counselling

The counselling and the seat allotment of the qualified candidates for admission to the 23 IITs and ISM Dhanbad through JEE Advanced 2017 is done by the Joint Seat allocation Authority (JoSAA). The registration and choice filling has begun from June 15, 2017, onwards. Candidates have to apply and fill in their choices for JEE Advanced 2017 on or before June 26. The counselling of JEE Advanced 2017 includes online registration, choice filling and locking, seat allotment and reporting to the allotted colleges. The first round of seat allotment will start on June 28, 2017.

JEE Advanced 2017 Result

The result of JEE Advanced has been announced online on June 11, 2017. Along with the declaration of result, the category wise All India Ranks (AIR) of the qualified candidates has also been published. Candidates can check their result/rank only in the online mode. The Individual rank card has not been sent to any of the students. To download JEE Advanced 2017 result, candidates have to log in through their JEE Advanced 2017 registration number and date of birth.

JEE Advanced 2017 Rank List

IIT Madras has published the JEE Advanced rank list 2017 along with the result. Only those candidates who have appeared in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 of JEE Advanced 2017 are considered for ranking. The ranks list has been prepared on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance examination. If in case, two or more candidates secure the same aggregate mark, the following tie-breaking policy will be used to assign the rank.

Tie Breaking Resolution in JEE Advanced 2017

If two or more students obtain equal marks, the ranks of the candidates have been decided in the following order:

  • The candidate with higher marks in Mathematics has been awarded higher rank.
  • If the tie still persists, the candidate with higher marks in Physics has been assigned higher rank.
  • If the tie doesn’t break even after applying the criterion mentioned above, candidates are awarded the same rank.

JEE Advanced 2017 Answer Key

The official answer key of JEE Advanced for both Papers 1 and 2 was published by IIT Madras on June 04, 2017. Uploading of OBC- NCL Certificate

Candidates who have uploaded a declaration in lieu of OBC‐NCL Certificate at the time of applying for JEE Advanced 2017 have to upload OBC-NCL certificate on or before June 5. Candidates have to enter JEE Main 2017 roll number, date of birth, certificate Type, e- mail, upload the selected file (Max: 1 MB), give reasons for uploading (Max: 500 characters). Candidates should note that the OBC NCL certificate must be issued after April 1, 2017.

JEE Advanced 2017 Admit Card

The admit card of JEE Advanced 2017 was available to all the candidates who successfully registered for the entrance exam. The admit card was available only in the online mode. It contained the name and address of the exam centre allotted to the candidates along with their name, photograph, signature, address, category, language of the question paper etc.

In case of any discrepancy in the admit card details, candidates were required contacting the Chairman of JEE Advanced 2017 of the respective zonal coordinating IIT. Candidates had to carry a copy of the downloaded admit card to the exam centre and produce it at the time of exam. Candidates were issued the original admit card during the Paper 1 examination. Candidates had to keep the JEE Advanced admit card 2017 safely till the admission process gets over.

JEE Advanced 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Each and every candidate has to fulfil all the five eligibility criteria given below to appear in JEE Advanced 2017:

2. Age limit Candidates must be born on or after October 1, 1992. For candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwD category, there is a relaxation of five years. They must be born on or after October 01, 1987.
3. Number of attempts Candidates can attempt JEE Advanced 2017 a maximum of two times in consecutive years
4. Academic qualification Candidates must have appeared for class 12 or its equivalent examination with all the subjects for the first time in 2016 or 2017. Also, candidates whose class 12 or equivalent exam result for the academic session 2014-15 were declared after June 2015 are eligible for JEE Advanced 2017
5. Earlier admission at IITs Candidates who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs for the first time in 2016 are eligible to appear in JEE advanced 2017. Also, candidates who have paid seat acceptance fee but did not accept the seat are also eligible.However, Candidates who have been admitted in an IIT/ISM irrespective of their continuation in the program or whose admission was cancelled are not eligible.

JEE Advanced 2017 Application Form

Candidates needed to register online for appearing in JEE Advanced 2017. The procedure to fill up the Application form and other important details is given below.

  • Candidates needed to login through JEE Main 2017 roll number and password
  • After logging in, candidates had to provide their basic details. Candidates had to choose their medium of paper, examination cities etc.
  • Candidates required uploading the scanned copies of all the relevant documents.
  • Candidates had to pay the registration fees.

JEE Advanced 2017 Optical Response Sheet

  • Candidates were provided with Optical Response Sheet (ORS) to record their answers.
  • The answers had to be marked on the first page of the ORS by darkening the bubble or bubbles.
  • Candidates had to use Black ball point pen to mark their responses in the answer sheet.

JEE Advanced 2017 Syllabus

The syllabus of JEE advanced 2017 includes topics from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Performance in Class XII (or equivalent) Examination

Candidates must satisfy at least one of the given criteria mentioned below for admission in IITs and other Institutes:

  • Candidates must secure at least 75% aggregate marks in the class XII (or equivalent) Board examination. For SC, ST and PwD candidates the aggregate marks is 70%.
  • Candidates must be within the category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class XII (or equivalent) board examination.

What’s New in JEE Advanced 2017

  • The total number of candidates eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2017 which was earlier 2 lakh has now  been increased to 2,20,000
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST category had to secure an aggregate of 65% in class 12 or its equivalent examination to appear in JEE Advanced 2017
  • For Candidates seeking admission under the OBC‐NCL category, their OBC‐NCL certificate  had to be issued on or after April 1, 2017
  • To assist the candidates while filling the JEE Advanced 2017 application form, fee payment, admit card issuance and more, interactive features such as video calling, SMS service etc. was introduced
  • There was a hike in the application fee of JEE Advanced 2017
  • In addition to the mobile number submitted at the time of applying for JEE Main 2017, candidates were able to add another mobile number while registering for JEE Advanced
  • The result of JEE Advanced 2017 will also be intimidated through SMS for the convenience of the candidates. Therefore, at the time of filling the application form, candidates must provide valid mobile number to utilise this benefit
