JEE Advanced 2017 – The examination conducting body, IIT Madras has conducted JEE Advanced 2017 for paper 1 and paper 2 on May 21. JEE Advanced 2017 for Paper 1 was held in pen and paper based mode from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.Paper 2 of JEE Advanced starts from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Both the papers of JEE Advanced 2017 was compulsory. Various coaching institutes have now released the answer key of JEE Advanced 2017. The official answer key will be available online on June 04 and the result will be declared after a week on June 11. The JEE Advanced admit card 2017 has been issued from May 10 to all the candidates who have successfully registered for JEE Advanced 2017. Candidates can download the admit card until May 21. Around 2,21,427 JEE Main qualifiers are eligible to appear in JEE Advanced for admission into the 23 IITs which will fill approximately 11,000 B.Tech seats. Uploading of OBC- NCL Certificate
Candidates who have uploaded a declaration in lieu of OBC‐NCL Certificate at the time of applying for JEE Advanced 2017 have to upload OBC-NCL certificate on or before June 5. Candidates have to enter JEE Main 2017 roll number, date of birth, certificate Type, e- mail, upload the selected file (Max: 1 MB), give reasons for uploading (Max: 500 characters). Candidates should note that the OBC NCL certificate must be issued after April 1, 2017.

The official answer key of JEE Advanced for both Papers 1 and 2 will be released by IIT Madras on June 04, 2017. With the help of the answer key of JEE Advanced, candidates will be able to cross-check their responses with that of the answer key and calculate the probable score. If candidates have any doubts regarding the official answer key, they can submit their feedback from June 04 to 06, 2017. Apart from the official answer key of JEE Advanced 2017, various coaching institutes will also publish the JEE Advanced answer key few hours after the conclusion of the examination.

The admit card of JEE Advanced 2017 is now available to all the candidates who have successfully registered for the entrance exam. The admit card is available only in the online mode. It contains the name and address of the exam centre allotted to the candidates along with their name, photograph, signature, address, category, language of the question paper etc.
After downloading the JEE Advanced hall ticket, candidates are advised to check the details furnished on it. In case of any discrepancy in the admit card details, candidates must immediately contact the Chairman of JEE Advanced 2017 of the respective zonal coordinating IIT. Candidates must carry a copy of the downloaded admit card to the exam centre and produce it at the time of exam. Candidates will be issued the original admit card during the Paper 1 examination. Candidates must ensure to keep the JEE Advanced admit card 2017 safely till the admission process gets over.

JEE Advanced 2017 Optical Response Sheet
- Candidates will be provided with Optical Response Sheet (ORS) to record their answers.
- The answers should be marked on the first page of the ORS by darkening the bubble or bubbles.
- Candidates must use Black ball point pen to mark their responses in the answer sheet.

The syllabus of JEE advanced 2017 includes topics from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates must cover the entire syllabus prescribed for JEE Advanced to score well in the examination and to qualify for admission into the B.Tech programmes offered by the IITs, ISM and other participating institutes of JEE Advanced 2017.
Sample Paper of JEE Advanced 2017 is similar to the question paper of the actual examination. Regular practice of sample papers will prove beneficial to the candidates in various ways. It will help the candidats to get a prior experience of the actual examination. Sample papers are an important tool to understand the type of questions, division of marks and get an idea about the pattern of the examination. Candidates will be able to figure their strength and weakness, improve their time management skills and prepare better for the examination. Candidates are advised to check and download the sample papers and practice it regularly to prepare better and excel in the examination.
The result of JEE Advanced will be declared online on June 11, 2017. After the declaration of result, the All India Ranks (AIR) of the qualified candidates will also be published. Candidates will be able to check their result/rank only in the online mode. Individual rank card will not be sent to any of the students. To download JEE Advanced 2017 result, candidates have to log in through their JEE Advanced 2017 registration number, date of birth, mobile number and email ID.
IIT Madras will publish the JEE Advanced rank list 2017 after the result is declared. Only those candidates who have appeared in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 of JEE Advanced 2017 will be considered for ranking. The ranks list will be prepared on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance examination. If in case, two or more candidates secure the same aggregate mark, the following tie-breaking policy will be used to assign the rank.
Tie Breaking Resolution in JEE Advanced 2017
If two or more students obtain equal marks, the ranks of the candidates will be decided in the following order:
- The candidate with higher marks in Mathematics will be awarded higher rank.
- If the tie still persists, the candidate with higher marks in Physics will be assigned higher rank.
- If the tie doesn’t break even after applying the criterion mentioned above, candidates will be awarded the same rank.
The cutoff is the minimum prescribed marks that candidates need to secure in each subject and in aggregate in JEE Advanced 2017. Only those candidates who will secure the minimum aggregate mark will be included in the rank list. The category wise minimum qualifying marks in percentage are given below in the table:

Performance in Class XII (or equivalent) Examination
Candidates must satisfy at least one of the given criteria mentioned below for admission in IITs and other Institutes:
- Candidates must secure at least 75% aggregate marks in the class XII (or equivalent) Board examination. For SC, ST and PwD candidates the aggregate marks is 70%.
- Candidates must be within the category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class XII (or equivalent) board examination.
The counselling and the seat allotment of the qualified candidates for admission to the IITs, ISM Dhanbad and 9 other institutes through JEE Advanced 2017 will be done by the Joint Seat allocation Authority (JoSAA). The JEE Advanced 2017 counselling is expected to be conducted tentatively from June 19 to July 18. The counselling of JEE Advanced 2017 includes online registration, choice filling and locking, seat allotment and reporting to the allotted colleges. All the candidates eligible for admission have to participate in the seat allotment of JEE Advanced 2017 by filling in their choices of the courses in the online mode.

What’s New in JEE Advanced 2017
- The total number of candidates eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2017 which was earlier 2 lakh has now been increased to 2,20,000
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST category have to secure an aggregate of 65% in class 12 or its equivalent examination to appear in JEE Advanced 2017
- For Candidates seeking admission under the OBC‐NCL category, their OBC‐NCL certificate must be issued on or after April 1, 2017
- To assist the candidates while filling the JEE Advanced 2017 application form, fee payment, admit card issuance and more, interactive features such as video calling, SMS service etc. has been introduced
- There has been a hike in the application fee of JEE Advanced 2017. The revised fee structure is provided below on this page
- In addition to the mobile number submitted at the time of applying for JEE Main 2017, candidates will now be able to add another mobile number while registering for JEE Advanced
