JEE Advanced 2017 Seat Allotment – The seat allotment of JEE Advanced is conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The second set of mock seat allotment has been released on June 23. JoSAA published the first set of JEE Advanced 2017 mock seat allocation on June 20. The mock seat allotment result is based on the choices entered by the candidates at the time of choice filling. The first round of JEE Advanced seat allotment to start from June 28, 2017. JEE Advanced seat allotment 2017 will be done in seven rounds. Acceptance of seats for the 1st round of JEE Advanced seat allotment by reporting at the centre will commence from June 29 to July 03. The second round of seat allotment will begin from July 4 to 6. After every round of JEE Advanced seat allotment, candidates who have been allotted a seat have to report at the reporting centre, verify their documents, pay the seat acceptance fee and accept the seats allotted to them. Candidates can also apply for upgradation and withdrawal of seats. The withdrawal option against the allotted seats can be exercised only till the sixth round of JEE Advanced seat allotment 2017. JEE Advanced 2017 Mock Seat Allotment
Based on the choices filled in by the candidates at the time of JoSAA Registration and Choice filling process, the first and second JEE Advanced mock seat allocation was released on June 20 and 23, 2017, respectively. Candidates who have registered and filled in their choices of institutes and branches can see the list of possible seats that will be allotted to them as per their preferences and rank.
JEE Advanced 2017 Seat Allotment Rounds
JoSAA will conduct the seat allotment of JEE Advanced 2017 in seven rounds. Only those candidates who will successfully register and fill up their choices will be able to participate in JEE Advanced counselling and seat allotment process. Seats will be allotted as per the ranks secured by the candidates in JEE Advanced 2017. After every JEE Advanced seat allotment result is displayed, candidates have to report at the reporting centre within the given period of time. At the reporting centre, candidates have to accept the allotted seats by verifying their documents and making the payment of seat acceptance fee.
JEE Advanced 2017 Seat Allotment- Freeze, Float and Slide Options
Candidates can opt for any of the following three options at the time of accepting a seat:
|Freeze: Candidates who are satisfied with the allotted seats and wants to accept the same have to opt for ‘freeze’ option. Such candidates will not be considered in the subsequent round of counselling and seat allotment process.|
|Float: This option is for candidates who have accepted the allotted seat but also wants to apply for a better/higher preference in the subsequent rounds of JEE Advanced counselling. Such candidates can participate in the subsequent rounds of counselling.|
|Slide: Candidates who have accepted the allotted seat but seeking admission to a higher preferable programme within the allotted Institute have to opt for ‘Slide’ option. Such candidates will be considered for further admission process.|
Note: Slide and float options will be available to only those candidates who are not offered admission to their first choice.
JEE Advanced 2017 Seat Acceptance Fee
At the time of seat acceptance, candidates have to remit the seat acceptance fee. The seat acceptance fee will be adjusted against the admission fee by the admitting institute. Applicants can make the payment through e- challan or SBI Net Banking. The category-wise seat acceptance is as given below:

Reporting at the Allotted Institute
After completion of JEE Advanced 2017 seat allocation and seat acceptance process at the reporting centre, candidates have to finally report at their allotted institute. Candidates have to complete all the admission formalities of the Institute and confirm their admission to begin their academic session.
JEE Advanced 2017 Seat Allotment- Withdrawal of Seats
Candidates can apply for seat withdrawal until the sixth round of JEE Advanced 2017 seat allotment. Candidates exercising the withdraw option will not be considered in the subsequent rounds of seat allotment. The seat acceptance fee will also be refunded to the candidates after deducting Rs. 1000 as the processing charges. For exercising withdraw option, candidates have to complete the following two steps:
- Candidates have to fill in the Bank Account details online to which the seat acceptance fee will be refunded
- After submitting the details, applicants have to upload an image of cancelled cheque of the same account in jpg. file format and then download the withdrawal request letter.
- Both the candidate and his/her parent have to sign the withdrawal request letter and report at a reporting centre to vacate the seat.
- It is mandatory for each and every candidates to complete all the above mentioned steps to successfully apply for withdrawal
