JEE Advanced 2017 CounsellingJEE Advanced 2017 Counselling – The counselling of JEE Advanced 2017 has started on June 15 by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). To register and fill choices for JEE Advanced counselling 2017, candidates have to enter their JEE Main 2017 roll number and JEE Advanced password. Candidates can register and fill in their choices for JEE Advanced counselling until June 26, 2017. The link to apply for JEE Advanced 2017 counselling is provided on this page. JoSAA is conducting JEE Advanced 2017 counselling in 7 rounds. JEE Advanced 2017 counselling will be done as per the ranks secured by candidates in the entrance exam. After the completion of all the formalities, candidates can check the seats allotted to them online through the candidate login. Applicants have to book the allocated seat and pay the requisite fee amount. To confirm the allocated seats, candidates have to report to the allotted college and submit their documents for verification within the specified period of time. Through JEE Advanced counselling 2017, the 23 IITs including ISM Dhanbad will fill approximately 11,000 B.E/B.Tech seats. Eligibility Criteria for JEE Advanced Counselling 2017

Candidates must fulfil the following norms for being eligible toparticipate in the counselling of JEE Advanced 2017:

  • Candidates must have met the qualifying cutoff and secured a position in JEE Advanced rank list 2017
  • In class XII Boards or any equivalent examination, candidates must have obtained at least 75% aggregate marks  (65% for SC, ST, PwD categories) or be in the top 20 percentile of successful candidates.

JEE Advanced 2017 Seat Acceptance with Original Admit Card

During the seat acceptance process, candidates have to produce their original JEE Advanced 2017 admit card. Candidates who have lost their admit card can obtain it at any of the zonal IIT. Candidates have to visit their zonal IIT in person with a Demand Draft of Rs. 1000 drawn in favour of Organizing Chairman, JEE Advanced 2017 payable at Chennai. After making the necessary verification, the zonal IIT will issue the duplicate admit card. Candidates can also request for admit card by post along with the DD. The duplicate admit card will be sent to the registered postal address of the candidates after verifying the authenticity of the candidates’ details.

JEE Advanced Counselling 2017 Registration 

The online registration for JEE Advanced counselling has started from June 15, 2017, onwards. Candidates have to undertake the following steps to successfully register for JEE Advanced 2017 counselling:

  • Click on the link provided above on this page
  • On the login page, enter JEE Main 2017 roll number and password used for JEE Advanced 2017
  • Enter the security pin as shown on the screen and then click on th e’Login’ button
  • After successful login, enter all the required details
  • Verify all the details entered on the registration page and then click on ‘Confirm registration’ button

JEE Advanced 2017 Counselling Choice Filling

Candidates have to fill in their choices of institutes and programmes in order of preference. While filling in their choices, candidates must keep the following points in mind:

  • Candidates do not have to any fee for filling in of choices and they can fill as many choices as they desire
  • Candidates have to fill in their choices latest by June 26,2017.
  • There will be two mock allocations on June 20 and 23, 2017, respectively
  • After the second mock seat allocation, candidates must ‘lock’ their choices. In case, the choices are not locked, it will be automatically be locked in the last minute of the last date of choice filling
  • After the last date, candidates will not be allowed to change their choices/preferences any more

Provisional Seat Allocation Letter & Seat Acceptance Fee

After being allotted a seat, candidates have to download the ‘Provisional seat allocation letter’ and an e-challan for remittance of seat acceptance fee. The seat acceptance fee can be paid through e- challan or SBI Net Banking. The category wise seat acceptance fee can be checked from the table below:

JEE Advanced 2017 Counselling- Freeze, Float and Slide Options

At the time of accepting a seat, candidates can opt to ‘freeze’, ‘float’ or ‘slide’ their choice of academic program for subsequent rounds, if any.

Freeze: Candidates have to opt this option if they are accepting the allotted seats and do not want to participate in further rounds of JEE Advanced counselling. Such candidates will not be considered for subsequent admission rounds

Float: Applicants accepting the seat allotted by JoSAA but also wants to apply for a better/higher preference in the subsequent rounds of counselling have to opt for ‘float’ option. Such candidates can participate in the subsequent round of counselling

Slide: Candidates who have accepted the seat allotted to them but also seeking admission to a higher preferable programme within the institute have to choose ‘Slide’ option. Such candidates will be considered for further admission process.

JEE Advanced 2017 Counselling Rounds

The counselling of JEE Advanced 2017 to be conducted in seven rounds. JEE Advanced counselling will be done as per the rank and preference of choices filled in by the candidates. After each round, the seat allocation result will be published and candidates have to report to the reporting centre for document verification and acceptance/withdrawal of seats. The round wise JEE Advanced 2017 counselling is given below in details:

JEE Advanced 2017 Counselling Round 1

The first round of seat allocation result will be published by JoSAA on June 28, 2017. Candidates have accept the seats by paying the seat acceptance fee and then report in person at the reporting centre for document verification and get the seat confirmed.

JEE Advanced 2017 Counselling Round 2

After the completion of the seat allotment of round 1, JoSAA will publish the total number of filled and vacant seats on July 04 at 10:00 am followed by the seat allocation result at 5:00 pm. Candidates eligible to participate in the 2nd round of JEE Advanced 2017 have to report at the reporting centre between July 5 and 6 to accept/ withdraw their respective seats.

JEE Advanced 2017 Counselling Round 3

The availability of seats and result of seat allocation for the 3rd round of JEE Advanced counselling will be released on July 7. The seat acceptance/ withdrawal formalities for candidates will be carried out from July 8 to 9, 2017.

JEE Advanced 2017 Counselling Round 4

After the completion of the 3rd round of JEE Advanced counselling 2017, JoSAA will publish the number of filled/vacant seats followed by the seat allocation result on July 10. Candidates selected for counselling and seat allotment process have to accept/withdraw their seats between July 11 and 12, 2017.

JEE Advanced 2017 Counselling Round 5

JoSAA will display the number of seats filled and the availability status along with the result of seat allocation for the 5th round of counselling of JEE Advanced on July 13, 2017. Reporting of candidates at the reporting centre for seat acceptance/withdrawal for the 5th round will be held on July 14, 2017

JEE Advanced 2017 Counselling Round 6

The total number of filled and vacant seats after the 5th round of counselling will be displayed online on July 15, 2017. Acceptance/withdrawal of seats by eligible candidates for JEE Advanced counselling round 6 will be held on July 16 and 17.

JEE Advanced 2017 Counselling Round 7

The number of seats filled/vacant and the seat allocation result for the last round of JEE Advanced counselling will be published on July 18, 2017. Candidates have to report on July 19 at the reporting centre for acceptance of seats. There will be no withdrawal of seats in this round.

Reporting at the Allotted Institute

After each round of JEE Advanced 2017 counselling, candidates who have been allotted a seat have to report at the allotted institute. Candidates have to complete all the admission formalities at the institute to confirm their seats.

How to Withdraw from JEE Advanced 2017 Counselling

A candidate, who has already accepted a seat allotted by JoSAA 2017, can withdraw the seat by reporting at a reporting center before the last round of seat allocation. Seat acceptance fee will be refunded to these candidates after deducting the processing charges of Rs. 1000. For exercising withdraw option, candidates have to complete the following steps.

  • Candidates have to login online and fill-in the Bank Account details after which the seat acceptance fee will be refunded
  • Candidates have to upload an image of cancelled cheque of the same account in JPG format and download the withdrawal request letter.
  • Both the candidate and his/her parent have to sign the withdrawal request letter and report at a reporting centre to vacate the seat.
