Haryana B.Tech 2017 Eligibility Criteria – The candidates applying for B.Tech admissions in engineering colleges of the state must check the eligibility criteria of Haryana B.Tech 2017 set by Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES). Haryana B.Tech 2017 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must be a citizen of India.
2. Haryana B.Tech Eligibility Criteria 2017 for Academic Criteria:
The candidates appearing in Haryana B.Tech 2017 must satisfy certain academic qualifications.
For B.Tech candidates – The candidates must have passed 10+2 examination from the recognised board/university with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and any one of the following subjects:
- Computer Science
- Biology/ Informatics Practices/ Multimedia and Web Technology
For B.Tech (Bio-technology) candidates – The candidates should have passed qualifying examination with Physics and Mathematics/Biology as mandatory subjects and any one from the following subjects:
- Computer Science
3. Haryana B.Tech 2017 Eligibility Criteria for Qualifying marks:
The candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks to fulfil the Haryana B.Tech 2017 eligibility criteria. The candidates appearing for B.Tech or B.Tech (Biotechnology), the general candidates will be required to secure at least 45% of marks, whereas, the candidates belonging to SC category must secure 42.75% marks in all the subjects taken together.
- Any change in minimum academic qualifications in terms of aggregate marks for the private institute will be notified at the time of counselling.
- The candidates belonging to Kashmiri migrants will be given relaxation in cutoff percentage up to 10% subject to the Haryana B.Tech 2017 eligibility criteria.
4. Haryana B.Tech 2017 Eligibility Criteria for Selection in colleges
The candidates can check the eligibility criteria of Haryana B.Tech 2017 selection criteria which will be considered for admission in B.Tech courses.
For B.Tech programme: For the admission in undergraduate engineering courses, 40% weightage will be given to class XII marks and 60% weightage will be on the basis of performance in JEE Main examination.
For B.Tech (Bio-technology): The admission will be done on the basis of inter-se merit of JEE Main 2017. All the remaining unfilled seats of the centralised counselling will be allotted firstly to the candidates who have studied Biology and have not appeared in JEE Main. The marks of such candidates will be on the basis marks secured in Physics, Biology and Chemistry/Biotech/Computer Science.
For Kashmiri Migrants: The 5% of sanctioned seats in each course will be reserved for Kashmiri Migrants for B.Tech courses and it will be considered as supernumerary seats. Such seats will be filled on the basis of inter-se merit of the qualifying examination. The percentage will be calculated on the basis of the marks secured in Mathematics, Physics, English and any one of the following subjects with higher marks:
- Computer Science
It is mandatory for all the Kashmiri Migrants to have the original migration documents duly signed by the competent authority or relief commissioner.
For Haryana government school toppers (HGST): A number of seats in each branch in the government/aided/university/private institute offering B.Tech admissions will be available for HGST candidates. Such seats will be filled on the basis of the inter-se merit of qualifying examination out of each topper of government senior secondary school from science stream who will fulfil the Haryana B.Tech 2017 eligibility criteria.
Such candidates must have a certificate in support of their claim from the principal of government school from which the candidates is a topper.
For Tuition Fee Waiver candidates: The seats for tuition fee waiver candidates will be considered under supernumerary seats with a minimum of 30% sanctioned seats. The admission under AICTE scheme of tuition fee waiver candidates is meant for the candidates who are economically weak. The seats will be filled by the candidates on the basis of JEE Main 2017 marks through online counselling.
