Criteria for preparing GATE 2017 Result
The examination authority will adopt the standard deviation methodology to derive GATE score. It will be implemented on marks obtained by the candidate in a single session papers and normalized marks for papers held in multiple sessions.
GATE normalization process for multiple session papers:
The normalization will be applied to derive raw score of candidates who will appears in CE, CS, EC, EE and ME papers because these paper held in multiple sessions. The normalization is done after assuming that ‘in all multi-session GATE papers, the distribution of abilities of candidates is the same across all the sessions’.

How to get GATE Scorecard after last date of downloading
The link for downloading GATE 2017 scorecard will be removed on May 26, 2017. Candidates are advised to download their GATE scorecard on or before the prescribed date. In case, any candidate fails to download it, they can get it through the GOAPS portal on paying of Rs. 500 (five hundred only). The last date to get scorecard with payment is December 31, 2017.
What is GATE Cut off Score
The cut off score is the minimum qualifying marks which must be secured by candidates to qualify the test. Candidates whose marks are greater than or equal to the qualifying mark of in their respective papers will be declared qualified in GATE 2017. Based on the obtained marks candidates can accordingly apply for M.E., M.Tech admission or PSUs recruitment. The institutes like IITs, NITs, CFITs and IISc declare their own cut off score for admission and only those candidates who will secure the declared cut off score will be called for further round of selection procedure.
