GATE 2017 Eligibility CriteriaGATE 2017 Eligibility Criteria – Aspirants wishing to apply for GATE must meet the GATE 2017 Eligibility Criteria as specified by IIT roorkee which is the organizing institute for GATE 2017. The Eligibility Criteria for GATE specifies the minimum requirements of age and academic qualifications that applicants is to fulfill, if they are to be allowed to take up the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. GATE 2017 will be conducted for admissions to various M.Tech programmes at the IITs and NITs as well as other institutes and universities. GATE scores are also used by various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) for the purpose of recruitment. Only candidates who meet the the specified GATE 2017 Eligibility Criteria will be allowed to take up the exam. Applicants must upload the Eligibility Certificate as proof of their academic qualifications while reserved and PwD candidates must upload the caste certificate/ PwD certificate as proof respectively. Check the detailed GATE 2017 Eligibility Criteria below on this page.

GATE 2017 Eligibility Criteria is as follows:

M. Sc./ M.A./MCA or equivalent Master’s degree in any of the stream Science/Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Applications or equivalent Appearing in the final year or completed 2017
Int. M.E/ M.Tech (Post-B.Sc.) Post-BSc Integrated Master’s degree programs in Engineering / Technology (Four year program) Appearing in the 2nd/3rd/ 4th  year or completed 2019

Note: Candidates holding higher degrees than the ones mentioned can select a minimum relevant one to apply. In case, any candidate has a backlog and has appeared for the final year examinations in the past year, he/she will have to submit a declaration issued by the Principal of the College/respective Institution or a copy of any one of the final year mark sheets.

Type of Candidate Eligibility Certificate to Upload
Candidates who are pursuing their Master/ PG Upload Degree Certificate OR Provisional Degree Certificate. In case you dont have either, then upload the provisional certificate as given above.
Candidates who have completed their Degree in 2016 or earlier Degree Certificate OR course completion certificate OR membership certificate issued by the society OR Provisional Certificate. If you don’t have any one of these, download the given format above, get it signed by the HOD  or Principal and submit it.
Candidates who completed degree in 2016 or before (but have backlog papers) 8th Semester or 7th Semester or 6th semester mark sheet OR the provisional certificate letter as given above 
Candidates who have completed their degree but don’t have the Certificate/degree certificate/provisional certificate/7th and 8th semester mark sheet 6th semester mark sheet OR the provisional certificate letter as given above
AMIE Candidates Marks Sheet for AMIE Section A
