Different types of problems need to be tackled differently .You need to be skilled in these.
The techniques of dimensional analysis could be applied in a variety of conversion problems. The complex units could be converted using dimensional analysis as well a 3-step problem solving approach in solving a chemistry problem could be like this:
- Analyze the problem - list all the knows and unknowns
- Calculate - now solve for the unknowns
- Evaluate - does the result make any sense?
However, there are a number of complex problems which may require more than 3 steps.
Further there are comprehension problems which test your ability to grasp the things fast and analyze them using relational approach.
