Never Load Yourself With TONS of Books

Books , Books and Books.....Damn...So many books...
I already mentioned about this before in some of my few articles, but not in much detail. So i would like to make a mention here today itself so that I can clear this out...

Its not how many books you are completing but its about how well you study those few books to clear your concepts...

Trust me..Only 2 to 3 books per subject are sufficient to crack JEE.

Yesterday i was chatting with an IIT Aspirant who said...

I am very confused on what and how to study. Which books to start with. It feels like i am drowning in a flood full of books!

The problem looks small but let me tell you that it has destroyed many students chances for JEE and AIEEE.

Select only a few Trustworthy Books..

There are some few trustworthy books in the market which i guess you all are aware of. Let me list out those (You may replace the books listed below by the books which you feel comfortable with but they should be good ones and most importantly IIT JEE recommended)

Physics : NCERT, HC Verma, Arihant
Chemistry: NCERT(Must Read), Arihant
Mathematics :ML Khanna or Rd Sharma, Arihant

You can refer Coaching material and other hardcore books like Resnick,TMH,JD LEE etc after you complete these books.

These books are more than sufficient to crack JEE. Its tried and tested and is even recommended by those who cracked JEE
So make these books a part of your regime and throw away(not exactly throw Tongue out)your other useless books in a safe place which you are not aware of.

This is how it should go ..

So what should i do of the other Unused books?

Of-course they are not useless but as i said earlier you may refer the other books for PROBLEM SOLVING only after you have completed the above listed books.

Overloading yourself with books will result NOTHING

In short you will be wasting your time trying to figure out from which book to start with. I know this as it happened to me also. So i can advise this part...

Books are your best friends But LOTs book will destroy your precious time... So chose the right book and study it thoroughly and leave no stone unturned

Best of Luck

@sandeep! Thats a great choice. The mentioned books are really enough if done properly . Dont left any problem of h c verma. Walker could be used for clearing ur concepts. Must Try conceptual questions from there.

I thought DOGS were supposed to be your best friend!!! I remember reading a pamplet-like-poster in a bus above the conducter's head saying "BOOKS AND FRIENDS SHOULD BE FEW BUT GOOD". Till date I haven't referred anything except NCERT for chem and maths.

Hi there.

Such a good article. I wish I had joined EC last year. I have suffered from same problem last year.
It was like not having a clear path which would lead to JEE. So first timers DO TAKE this advise very seriously.

EC rocks!

Please recommend a good book for maths. Further, i don't understand much from physics ncert. So should i skip it & directly jump to hc verma? Reply please........
