Kuch pane ke liye kuch khona padhta hai
It simply means “if you want to achieve something, you need to lose something too.”
Dropping should be only considered only if you think you missed out IIT or NIT with a few marks or rank.
A year drop can be good for some students while for some it makes life heck.
Saying is easier then doing.
Dropping a year is a very difficult task. You can ask this to any student who has dropped a year. After some months of studying you might even get frustrated studying the same portion again and again.
But that frustration disappears if you are highly determined and you love your subject
It’s always advisable to join a college and prepare for JEE, AIEEE or other exams simultaneously since it will lower your stress to perform on that D day and if by some chance you are not able to clear JEE ,AIEEE or others then you have backup which is continue your course.
Chances of getting bored and depressed is also high...You might even think that what if I don’t perform well in those 3 to 6 hours…..and all that stuff.
However joining some coaching classes is always worth since it will help you to stay motivated.
Advantages of dropping
- A focused year towards studies can land you in IITs or Nits. That too with a good rank.
- You are transformed to a stronger student specially that kind of 1 year single minded devotion can be really helpful to you throughout your life.
Disadvantages of dropping a year.
- Lots of stress on you to perform on that particular D-day
- Depression and others related factors can also affect your studies
Students who have been successful after dropping a year -What's their secret?
There are many of them who dropped 1 year and cracked JEE next following year. Amrose Birani, who scored an AIR 3 in IIT JEE 2007 was a dropper!
Secret is Hardwork and Never Give Up Attitude
So if you have the motivation, Determination, single minded devotion then only think about dropping a year.
Otherwise joining some college and preparing for entrance exams simultaneously would be a safe and a cool thing. But please don’t mess up your college GPAs.
This is the time when time management strategy should be utilized.
Please keep in mind.
Hard Work is the only key to Success.

bro starting with ncert is the best way first complete ncert of PCM then start HC verma for physics if u feel comfortable then continue with it otherwise do pradeep or any other concept building book but do ask someone else fr physics because acc 2 me the marks i scored in physics is because of my teacher but he always said practice more and more mcqs so prefer mcq's book over HC verma and do as many mcqs as u can ,for chem practice is very important so after doing theory solve as many mcqs as u can it will increase ur confidence try p bahadur ,op tandon for physical and inorganic but fr organic theorey is very important so fr theory i wud suggest u organic chem by Jagdamba singh the best book fr organic in my opinion(believe me i got 97/160 marks in jee chemistry and 102/144 marks in aieee chem) take chem very seriously its very scoring and now fr maths after doing ncert do basic RD sharma and after that do mcqs frm ML aggarwal
BUT BRO DO JOIN A GUD COACHING INSTITUTE AND dnt hesitate in asking ur doubts frm teachers and my best wishes are with u hope u get admission in IIT"S next year

i have passed 10+2in year 2008 . i have scored 62.3% but due to lack of information i gave improvement paper in chemistry and maths because i got only 55%.and someone told me that for engineering entrance one must have 60% or more in pcm.so i didn't drop that year and gave paper in the two subject also i have given aieee in which i got 190000 rank and my father transferred from delhi to rajasthan i didn't have domicile for rajasthan so i was not able to give rpet.
next year that is 2009 with 12th i gave aieee ,rpet in which i got 60in; pcm and 2 50000 rank in aieee and 45000 rank in rpet then idrop for aieee but again i didn't cleared aieee and got 350000 rank and 35000 rank in rpet now i am so frustrated that i don't know what to do because if joined rpet college it is not good college .one mind telling that go to rpet college and one mind tell me that after so much failure now i am prepared so much thattake one more chance for rpet this year you will clear rpet with good rank
