This article is especially for those whose JEE paper went bad and are not expecting anything from it.
I know you all have passed through different sorts of emotions on JEE day. It must be a breathtaking (and may be heart breaking) experience for you which no Mock IIT JEE exam (in your coaching institutes) can ever match. The real competition !!
Some of you must have done extremely well, some performed average, some couldn’t give their best performance etc. If you look around, talk to your friends etc. there are all sorts of stories about JEE exam. Some people are saying the paper was difficult, some comment about a particular Subject and so on. There is no end to this discussion.
NOW Forget JEE exam : JEE exam is a past now. Whatever was your performance in the exam, its over now. I know it is very difficult to forget the thought that you could have done better. It is same for everybody even JEE toppers.
Please don’t keep lingering with the good/bad/poor performance. Move on. It is the time to show your strength and courage. You should be happy that you have experienced a real time examination and this will help you to build your temperament for the upcoming exams.
Plan your next milestones : You must prepare yourself for your next milestones (other Entrance exam) and the second most important after JEE is definitely AIEEE. You should have a look at the syllabus of your upcoming exams like AIEEE, VITEEE, ISAT, BITSAT etc. and check whether their syllabus has something extra (which JEE didn’t have). If yes, prepare for those topics. My experience tells me that NCERT books are very powerful tool for the exams other than JEE (and of course for JEE as well). Believe me, you must be feeling lighter now after JEE exam is over and after your experience, it is not hard to crack them. JEE has always been a hard nut to crack. It is not because it is a tough one but because it is the first exam. You can do very good in these exams and look forward for good departments in very good colleges (if in the worst case, you couldn’t do any good in JEE or don’t expect your rank in JEE). I know a lot of people who did their Engineering from institutes other than The IITs and they are doing very good in corporate world.\
In whatever coaching institutes you have studied, some of them do offer mock tests (or they generally launch test series) for these exams or you can even buy a 10 year exam books available in market as well. The idea is to keep up the momentum. We should not be lethargic at this moment. This time is very crucial for our future and especially for those who didn’t well in JEE. Many people take exams other than JEE in a very negative manner. They think that they don’t deserve to be in them but that’s the attitude problem.
Practice one 3 hour test paper and one 3 hour sitting every day. So, now even if you study for 6 hours a day (everyday), it will be more than enough.

IIT JEE 2010 Story
I would like to answer to everyone by making a reply to an EC members query Shivam Tiwari. Let me tell you about him
Flashback!!!
It was November/December I guess. Shivam was not at all prepared for JEE. In short not at all confident to crack JEE. But somehow he had the will power which could have made him crack the taunting IIT JEE.
He asked a query in the Entrance Corner Forums which was answered by other EC members including me. We all helped him and made him believe that there is still some time left. Just don’t give up the heck up.
He just needed a trigger to start his preparations which I think he got by reading all the helpful replies.
Started Like a Warrior:
He started his preparations like a warrior. Completed his portion to his maximum capacity. And by end of Feb he mastered physics and little bit of chemistry and still had to work on his mathematics.
I got a private message from him saying that He is finding Physics too easy and couldn’t believe IIT JEE problems are so easy!!!
He still continued to work harder and harder and worked on his chem. and Math’s too
He finally gave 4 mock tests at the end of March and scored marks ranging from 190 to 303. Really an awesome score and a great comeback of a warrior.
He was definitely a deserving candidate for IIT JEE and I too prayed for him so that he could achieve his dream.
But unfortunately ….Fate was not with him on April 11th 2010
I received a message on April 13th 2010 . I would like to paste it here...
Me and My Kismat. Messed it up, completely
In 1st paper scored a 144 and in 2nd paper just don’t know what happened. Suddenly chakkar aane lage. My brain went numb. Everything was blank, and then I couldn’t even see or read a thing
I was not able to attempt anything in paper II. I had to rush to the doctor after paper. Bed ridden again.....
I am not expecting anything now. I have solved some questions in the 2nd paper too but I’m sure they won’t be correct
I am not making into IIT...
My dream is gone bro. It’s all over. I had worked and thought so much about it but all in vain. Now I stand no where now. Totally shattered and all confidence gone with the wind Na koi aim Bacha and na koi Junoon. What should I do bro.? Please guide me through this. My parents are all sad. Even they never expected such a thing to happen at this crucial time. I am not speaking to anyone right now.
I was dead sure I would make it, but now shit yaar I hope you would understand my state rite now.
Is there anything that can be done now? I am not that well right now to study. What should I do brother...??
I have no road ahead. 6 months back you were the one who gave me a path way and I am not eligible now to walk over that I still don’t believe IIT is over and I have messed it up. Please guide me.
How can I (if ever I can) get back to some normal and respectable position. I have no clue how AIEEE exam is and how BITSAT is and what status they hold in front of IIT. All these 12 months I had been thinking only of IIT. Please help me

Your Failures Do Not Define You...
Shivam I am feeling really sad about how you couldn’t get what you always wanted. I was shocked to hear that you were not able to answer Paper II due to your illness and even more shocked that after expecting 144 in Paper I you definitely had 99% chances to clear JEE. As I know you were really prepared well for JEE. But Damn this sickness.
Bro your scores tell me that you definitely have the skills required to clear JEE. No Doubt. You have the required determination which every IIT aspirant should have. In short you have all what is required to be an IITian.
But sometimes luck backfires really hard. For IIT JEE you need 90% of hardwork and only 10 of luck and I think you missed on that 10%

Just because you have n't performed well in IIT JEE it does not mean that it is the end of the world.....
IIT Not over yet, you have one more chance…
IIT is not yet over for you man. You can try for a second attempt next year and I am DARN sure you will clear it. But please you have to take care of your health now and start JEE 2011 preparations as soon as possible.
In this coming year (If you consider to drop) then focus on solving problems of IIT JEE level
If they can do it why Not You?
You know Amrose (IIT JEE 2007 AIR 3) was not even able to get a rank in IIT JEE 2006 but he dropped and tried again. Worked damn hard and so cracked JEE with an unbelievable rank AIR 3.
Another true story of a guy whom I met online was in the same situation like you. He met with an accident while going to his Examination centre of IIT JEE and so couldn’t answer JEE. His dreams shattered for once but he dropped and worked hard and as expected cracked JEE with a rank in Top 500. Isn’t it amazing how these people fight back?
If they can do it Why Not you..??
This Article is dedicated to Shivam and to all those who think it’s the End of Life if you don’t clear JEE:
It’s of course not the end. You have lots of options like trying JEE next year or get into similar prestigious institutions like NITS and BITS. So I hope you are reading this and will get your confidence back like how you had before
I am ending this article with my favorite quote
“I don't Care who else is competing, what they are doing.....I just know that I’m going to work so much harder than them it’s not even comparable, bring it."
Cheers and Best of luck and keep smiling like this

bt around 15 chapters have been done in PCM IN mi classes,,,,.... how du i complete them...?
plzzzz help me.....
Myself, a first year student at DTU (formerly DCE).
To Shivam, i'd like to say, for a person as strong willed and super hardworking as you, this simply CANNOT BE THE END. A person with the two most important characteristics of determination and the will to work as hard as needed, will definitely make his mark as a professional, which is ultimately what we all aspire to do when we dream of securing a place in IIT. I hope i am clear at that. What this means is that while not losing your faith and not letting yourself get demoralized and continuing to work hard the same way, you can UNDOUBTEDLY get a place in some of the other VERY VERY good colleges and then be successful no less. And then of course there is GATE for further studies in IIT in case you are interested in pursuing M.TECH. Other most common options are obviously MBA and M.S. I myself aspire to get into IIM to compensate for the ''i was not in IIT'' SLIGHT regret
From what i have known from others, after a respectable post-grad of the likes i mentioned above, an IIT or a very good another college hardly make a difference. And besides we all know that sometimes failures are important in life for a better future. Take this one as that!
That was all to the best of my knowledge! Wish you luck
BE HAPPY;-)
for giving lots of confidence
