JEE Main 2014 Eligibility Criteria

Article given below has been updates as per the LATEST notification regarding JEE Main 2014. Kindly read the latest criteria below. Eligibility criteria will remain same for candidates of Odisha and Maharashtra who will be giving JEE Main 2014 exam this time.

JEE Main 2014 Eligibility Criteria will be those conditions and clauses which MUST be satisfied by every exam taker in order to sit for exam and to be eligible for subsequent admission process. Candidates who don’t satisfy even a single clause of eligibility will be REJECTED and will NOT be considered for admissions.

The various clauses for JEE Main 2014 Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

Year of Passing the Qualifying Exam (QE):

  • Candidates must have cleared their qualifying exam in the year of 2013 or 2012.
  • Candidates who are appearing for QE in 2014 are also eligible for JEE Main given that they submit the result of their QE at the time of admission.
  • According to JEE Main 2014 Eligibility Criteria, the candidates must have cleared their Qualifying Exam with at least 5 subjects.

Date of Birth:

  • Candidates born on or after the First Week of October of 1989 are eligible for exam.
  • This window for maximum age limit has been relaxed by 5 years for the candidates of Persons with Disabilities (Pwd),  ST and SC categories.

Number of Attempts:

All the candidates can take a maximum number of 3 attempts at exam as per the Eligibility Criteria of JEE Main 2014.

Subject Combination:

  • Candidates must have taken the QE including the last two years of scholastic level study with the subjects of Physics and Maths (Compulsory) and any ONE of Chemistry, Bio – Technology, Biology and Computer Science.
  • According to JEE Main 2014 Eligibility Criteria candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate in the qualifying exam so as to be eligible for exam and further admission process.

Odisha and Maharashtra Candidates

Eligibility conditions will remain same for the candidates belonging to Odisha and Maharashtra, as they will be giving JEE Main 2014 for admissions into engineering UG program in their respective state. Past practice regarding age limit from their state level exams would be implemented in JEE system for these candidates.

I gave my 12 exam in 2012 and appeared in jee main 2013 but did not sit in the counselling so I want to know whether I am eligible for jee main 2014?Also please tell me he criteria & syllabus of jee main 2014
